If he cares about about the daily deaths in Iraq, it has more to do with his concern about poll numbers than anything else.

Edited on Mon Sep-25-06 12:12 AM by Moochy
For a second there, when I read your subject line, I thought that The Magistrate had just lost it! :D

So Bush limits his "public displays of grief"
subtitle of that piece:
"In private meetings with families, he expresses his sorrow for losses"

In public he passes edicts preventing coffins from being photographed, ensuring that the grief remains private. :grr:

Tough Love and all of that, don't you know . . . .

Like the Walrus and the Carpentar crying as they ate the innocent little oysters in Through the Looking Glass, our humanity justifies our actions by the extremity of our pity for those whom we hurt. We feel sooooooooo bad for them, we MUST be the Good Guys.

17. I hear that's quite common with some mass murderers.
There is a category of killer that is so jaded and emotionally stunted, that they can only 'feel' under extreme circumstances, like after they kill. So they murder someone in cold blood, then curl up in a ball of weeping self-pity. After awhile, that emotion passes and they have to kill again. Like all 'highs', however the buzz is a little less each time, so the killer has to be more extreme, more brutal, to get the same feeling.

Bush just takes this to the logical extreme: he needs thousands dead before he even feels slightly wistful. Why do you think he wants to torture en mass? Why do you think he's itching to break out the nukes?

21. The psychopath is completely devoid of empathy of any kind.
He's a pathological narcissist and that disorder is marked by the absence of empathy. His behavior is completely and totally motivated by a need for a reaction - a response. Without reactions from others, he lacks a sense of his own existence. His need for attention and reactions is insatiable and growing ever larger. He receives much of his 'supply' from carefully orchestrated audiences of sycophants, either at fund raisers or campaign events. This is why, second only to 'downtime' (under medication?) at the pig ranch, he's spent more time at partisan political events than any other pResident - events where the attendance is obsessively controlled to prevent disturbances to the Fecal Führer's imbalanced psyche.

The only way in the world anyone could 'report' his faux grief is by being an audience to it - or being told of it. Either way, it was fraudulent - seeking only a reaction.

24. Imagine the Bush change when he loses the house or/and the senate?!!
Bush going the lame duck route, Bush finally being investigated by ligit committee's, Bush will retreat to Crawford and obscurity, coming out only if impeached or in 2009 to hand over the reins to the next prez.

28. The chances the Fascists will lose the Senate are probably 5%.
The chances they'll lose the House are about even - and that's optimistic, imho. Remember, there's nothing they won't stoop to - NOTHING. That's been proven beyond a reasonable doubt.

The more interesting question is whether the Fecal Führer will survive to see the next Presidential inaugural. I'm betting (better than even odds) he won't survive to vote in the next Presidential election. He'll be martyred. It's their perfect play. It turns a liability into an asset. We're gonna see some really deep and stinking shit in the next couple of years - and in years to come.

then the president can grieve like the 2700 hundred other families who have lost family members or if one of them beats the odds that are stacked against our troops and makes it home injured, like the 20,000 that have come back maimed, disfigured, and limbless. Not to mention every single Iraqi ally and civilian that has simply been caught in the crossfire. Friggin A$$ Clown.
