Meredith Came In First Yesterday - Good For Her!
And Katie is still in 3rd.

Meredith on NBC - 5.5

ABC (GMA) - 3.4

CBS - 1.65

Evening News

NBC - 5,8

ABC - 5.7

CBS - 5.2

I actually watched Katie last nite and it was better - but boy it isn't anything special.

1. Watching Today show first time in years
and I like Meredith so far. Can't stand Katie - now watch PBS or BBCA news -or Brian Williams for network. I liked Schieffer, but now only switch to CBS news for a second to see if lara Logan will be on.

2. I can't picture Rather or Schiefer sitting atop their desks with legs
crossed to do a "closing number" frankly.

You have to wonder what those idiots at CBS are thinking.

Katie Couric, despite her "Navy Seals Rock!!" persona, has the ability to do a tough interview. For the life of me I wish they'd cut with the smiley, kind and gentle approach, because these are NOT kind and gentle times. Our children are dying in Iraq, and bodies are turning up everywhere over there. This is NOT a happy-go-lucky time, and cute "outfits" and leg swinging atop desks isn't going to turn our everyday hell into a sunshiny picnic.

I also sense the ole devil sexism at work, as well.

4. I found it decidedly UNperky and UNprofessional
She's not teaching freshman philosophy and trying to be the "cool" professor, she is supposed to be delivering the news.

It's just....UNfortunate, I guess...
