Let us impeach George Bush, and let it begin with me
Submitted by davidswanson on Mon, 2005-12-26 02:30. Activism
Let us impeach George Bush, and let it begin with me,
Let us impeach George Bush, and don't forget Dick Cheney.
With George Bush in prison, safer we will be,
Let's lock up big brother, and have some privacy.

Let us impeach George Bush, let this be the moment now,
With every step I take, let this be my solemn vow,
To stop the war and impeach its authors and make democracy.
Let us impeach George Bush, and let it begin with me!

1. I love it!
I sang it to my husband, who laughed and said "GOOD!" Our local peace group is meeting early in the new year to plan strategy-I'll bookmark this so I can share it with them then.

15. I've written new lyrics to Beck's Loser, how would you envision
approaching a cover with the new lyrics? I was thinking a Hip Hop vibe rather than straight in the manner of Beck, since it would be sampling, but a DJ I was emailing with has stopped answering my emails.

4. Oh, my.
One of the things I do, to focus when meditating, etc., is to sing.

It's really kind of funny; my voice, turned loose in happy abandon, has been known to send even those that love me best shrieking for cover. My 2 left feet (no surprise there), are about as awkward and clumsy as any you'll find on the planet. Yet, when I want to send up a prayer, I sing and dance. I guess it's a good thing I tend to do those things solitarily, lol.

This particular song is one I often use during the period between winter solstice and the new year; I can be heard humming and singing it as I'm pottering around at home, as well as more deliberately, as an affirmation for the coming year.

This version is most appropriate for this year; if you listen, you'll hear it wafting up from my place.

9. I take a step towards the impeachment of Bush with this flyer...
available for download. Because we do need to educate about the need for impeachment.

To download the PDF right click on the link below and choose Save Target As:
http://bushcheated04.com/impeach.pdf

You can tuck them in books at the library or a bookstore, stick them in the window of free newspaper racks, leave them places where people will find them.

12. TY I find it really helps to combine images with copy on flyers as it
makes them a lot more eye catching and more apt to be noticed in an urban environment. I flyer bus stop shelters, utility poles, car windshields, etc. For a semi permanent display I use 3M Super 77 spray adhesive, as it does require some diligence and fingernails to remove. Also the display windows of empty free newspaper boxs you see in urban areas are a great place to place these.

13. hmmmm
that would also be a great way to spread the word about a march on congress for the State of the Union January 31. Maybe you would want to make a flyer for that?

DUer seabiscuit is trying to finalize a date and organize a DU rally.

Like everyone has been saying, the time for talking is over. Patriotism requires action.

14. I am more than willing to do a flyer I just need the copy but I think
we have a long way to go in creating a national uprising. I would bet that outside places like DU and on the opposite side of the spectrum Free Republic most people do not know very much about this controversy. The GOP and admin is framing it as "do you want to be safe" and the masses will say "hell yes" and tune us out.

That is why I thought it so important to use the dictator quote contrasted with Feingold's quote that illustrates Bush broke the law.

Marches on DC take a lot of resources and I am not sure I agree on effectiveness. The Iraq war rally was well attended and lefties were aware of it but John Q. Public was not. Can you imagine if everyone who traveled to DC had posted just 100 copies of the IRAQ WAR: WHAT IS IT GOOD FOR? flyer? 100 copies costs about $4 and a trivial amount of time. Multiply that by all the people who could not afford to travel to DC but wished they could. Until we manage to educate John Q. Public by using guerilla marketing techniques there will not be a popular uprising.

17. Auld Lang Impeachment

Auld Lang Impeachment -- Song Parody (Sing to Auld Lang Syne)

Bush/Cheney's wrongs won't be forgot.
Each one we'll keep in mind.
These evil men must be locked up
For all their many crimes.

They spied on U.S. citizens.
They lied us into war.
And now it's time for righteous folk
To shove them out the door.

They both abused our Bill of Rights.
took money from the poor.
Said up was down and black was white.
They are evil to the core.

They plundered our great nation's wealth.
They've terrorized our land.
Impeach George Bush and Cheney too.
It is time to take a stand.

18. Impeach the traitor.
The guy stole office.
The guy stole the Treasurey.
The guy sat on his hands when he knew Osama was going to strike.
The guy lied to America, stating Iraq had something to do with 9-11 and was a threat.
The guy called the Liberals traitors for asking him: "Why Iraq?"
The guy outted a CIA agent who worked to stop the spread of nuclear weapons.
The guy misused his powers as commander in chief to invade an innocent country.
The guy fixed the electoral process so his wingnut supporters decide who gets how many votes.
The guy used the NSA to spy on Americans.

There's more on this guy, George W Bush. He is definitely worthy of impeachment.

In shorthand:

CHIMPEACH.
