Is the post 9/11 Dan Rather appearance on Letterman
available anyplace, like YouTube?

I've just watched the Jon Stewart very emotional tape - thank you, 11 Bravo http://www.democraticunderground.com/discuss/duboard.php?az=view_all&address=364x2116415 - and remembered the reports about Rather's toughing visit that I have never watched but heard about.

3. Thank you. How interesting to listen to that perspective
now, when we know so much. The belief that we were going after the terrorist, that we were going to check and be assure in our mission.

We know that it did not take long for Rather, like the rest of us, to realize how Bush squander this trust, how he - or his handlers - cynically manipulated our trust and unity.

I really miss him.

2. Oh my god, this is telling
"Osama, dead or alive", talking about first strike accomplishing something, Colin Powell says "you don't move until you have defensive in place (in USA) and offensive enough to not get into another VietNam" (paraphrasing). Why not attack Afghanistan yet? (this is 9/17/01).

Multi-headed, multi-armed enemy.

I cannot watch this. sorry. but thanks.

4. thanks for the Stewart 911 link..wow..
amazing..first time i've seen it..still teared up... I remember those feelings and the hope that arose from the ashes. His MLK reference and view from his apartment were authentically heartfelt and deeply touching... Stewart is a true humanitarian and i wish people with his quality of heart, intelligence, and humanity were running our country... We need to honor those who died on that day and have died since through our country's deplorable actions, by restoring their,.. our country to that moment when MLK's dream seemed a reality, that we were a nation united, not divided, and the view to the statue of liberty was not just filled with self-serving rhetoric and violent retribution, but courageous resistance to injustice, and the ideal promise of America.
