Chris Matthews said the magic words ....
Edited on Sun Jan-22-06 11:41 AM by the_real_38
.... it all makes sense to me now. Here is his defense of his 'Osama is emulating Michael Moore' strategy. From

http://newsbusters.org/node/3686

"MATTHEWS: Why is he doing it? Why is he trying to track what he picks up in the Internet and from the media as the lingo of the left in America, like Moore? Why would he start to talk like Moore?

People misunderstood what I said last night. I think he`s getting some advice from people, he`s getting some lingo, some wordage that he hears working somewhere in the United States about this being for war profiteers and he`s jumping on every opportunity."

War profiteers. Those are the magic words. Matthews, of course, works for a war profiteer (General Electric, which owns NBC). It looks like he's defending the real homeland, and that's GE's front office. My feeling is that he probably caught wind of some criticisms of the outrageous spending taking place in the military sector, and decided to take action on the air. So if you think we're pissing away America's resources on debt to buy war toys, you're in with Osama and (heavens!) an evil documentary film maker.

In 2004 he went to Boehmeian Grove so I don't put anything into what he says. He knows damn well about everything. Very rarely he'll slip.

3. Maybe he's starting to talk like Moore because both are telling the truth.
Sound a little foreign in the GOP neck of the universe, Chris?

6. I think its genuine
But the hoo haw about how Osama is trying to "spin" his message to emulate the American left is the usual projection by the Media Whormeisters.

9. Any and all who question the supreme leader must be dispatched
OBL is the ultimate bad guy and lumping Moore or anyone else with him is the perfect talking point.

If OBL thanked Bush for invading Iraq they would spin it as being like Dems who relish rooting against the troops just because it is *seen by some* as being anti-Bush. This end of this line of spin would be to counter arguments that anything wrong has gone wrong in Iraq.

11. Not ambiguous

Osama was out there doing his dirty deeds and issuing his hatefukl messages long before Bush came onto the scene. He was also Clinton's Number One nemisis.

Just because we currently have a cynical and manipulative administrtion that is willing to exagerate and use that threat does not automatically mean that the threat from OBL and other terrorists is not real.

I am disgusted at how that threat has been manipulated by the GOP and Media to scare the American people, and to make political hay out of it.

But that does not mean I disregard the threat or enemy as existing outsie of the BFFE.

12. Tweety, Scarborough and the other RW nitwits should be asking
why, four years after 9/11, OBL is still on the loose making tapes threatening attacks. Where's the outrage about that? Where's the justice for the 3000 Americans who were murdered four years ago? Their silence on this point speaks volumes.
