The reaper makes a bitter harvest in Northern New York this week
In about the last 72 hours a friend of mine from high school basically dropped dead at his job, a good friend of mines 17 year old son was found dead in his bed two days ago and since misery has to travel in threes my dog of 10 years died today. I know this is probably lounge material but please leave it here so I can get some love from GD DUers. The Shadow family needs a big hug.

4. Thanks TN
I just got done burying my best girl, my doggie daughter, my best friend. Took her to my mother's yard where my mom the super gardener will make sure she always has lots of flowers growing around her.

9. I understand. I still grieve the loss of my 'best friend' Bo.
Edited on Fri Sep-08-06 07:02 PM by TahitiNut
My father, uncles, grandparents, stepfathers, and close friends have died ... but Bo's death over 16 years ago hit me with an unalloyed feeling of loss and grief far deeper than I could have ever predicted or explained. It was months before I had more than one day in a row without weeping.

14. To you, your dog was a member of the family
just as my cats are to me. You will miss them just as you would any other member of your family.

Be there for each other, that's the most important thing. Support your friend in his loss as he supports you in yours too.

:grouphug: again!

7. Damn, shadow!
As disasters happen, they wane and happiness will again shine. That's a given, my friend!

A fellow traveler also living "life in a northern (NY) town."

11. It really does hit like that, doesn't it?
I had a similar situation earlier this summer. You have my deepest sympathy on all of our losses.

12. Damn. Sending a warm hug from not to far away in NNY. I'm so very sorry...
Please don't feel bad about mourning the loss of your beloved fur kid. For many of us they are very much a part of the family, our kids with fur and our best friends and although the time they spend with us is all to short they live forever in, and leave tiny paws prints on, our hearts. If there's a loving creator and a heaven our furkids will be there waiting for us when it's our time to cross "The Rainbow Bridge".

 and sympathy
