I'm a bit worried about the day after the ABC 9/11 mini-series airs
ABC keeps saying that the film hasn't even been completely edited even though it's only like 2 days until it airs.

I'm thinking that ABC is going to scrub out all the controversial parts and then the talking head right-wing screeds will be all over news on Tuesday claiming that we progressives all jumped the gun on a mini-series that had no controversy whatsoever!

I so wish that someone has a copy of whatever tape was sent out to all the right-wing bloggers & pundits, the real version that tried to blame Clinton. If ABC scrubs this mini-series, the right-wingers will act like the preview tape never existed and we liberals made up the controversy.

Think about it!

3. well, that, and they will act like we are fasicsts who can't handle truth
"well, the directors and writers of this documentary produced a very accurate and factual recounting of the events, it was based off of the 9/11 Comission and endorsed by the Chairman. But, it held Clinton accountable for his role in letting Osama go, and the left wing extremists didn't like that. They can't take criticism, but they attack Bush nostop"

That's going to be the talking point you hear.

6. The point is there will be no propaganda sent to the schools.
There will not be another 'brick-in-the-wall'.

Other than that, I don't care to care what the RW says about us. They'll be
preaching to their own.

7. Well that's a no-brainer. Of course they'll do that. It's SOP.
But the uncut version WAS seen by enough people, enough RW talking heads were crowing about how it made the Clintons look, that they can't completely cover it up, if we don't let them.

9. What we need to do is collect all the statements about the film
being edited for content + the statements from security experts like Clarke and be ready. This will happen, we know it will. Let's be ready.

17. The Reagan miniseries
Democrats 'concerned'
Some Democrats on the Hill did weigh in, however. Rep. John Dingell who knocked heads with the Reagan White House in the 1980s, couldn't resist tweaking outraged Republicans and sent Moonves a letter expressing his own "concern" prior to the cancellation announcement. The final cut, Dingell, said should include "$640 Pentagon toilet seats, ketchup as a vegetable, trading arms for hostages" and other scandals that plagued the Reagan administration.

Senate Minority leader Tom Daschle later called the decision to pull the show "appalling." CBS "totally collapsed," he told National Public Radio.

Programming executives say canceling a program after it has been produced is unusual. TV historian Tim Brooks, Lifetime Television's head of research, says canceling any program so close to launch is highly unusual. Had CBS stuck with The Reagans, he noted, the controversy "would have produced a large audience."

One industry source estimated that Viacom could take a loss from the switch to Showtime.

CBS paid an estimated $10 million for the show and turned it over to subscription-only Showtime for $7 million, meaning Viacom will take a $3 million hit that can't be recouped by ad sales aired by the replacements in the time slots.
