"The calling of this generation"
That's what W said today regarding the "war on terror".

As I look around I gotta disagree.
He is wrong.

The I-Pod is "the calling of this generation".

1. at my age, with no one willing to hire me for any job
(apparently)

I am living the "culling of my generation"

even though I helped to create technology like the iPod and the Internet in the first place.

6. cullingly linguistic
We've been branded, our resume's no longer say "C, C++, Unix",
but "C#TM, Oracle 8(TM), SAP(TM)..." and knowledge is owned and branded,
and like any product, all relevant careers are retired with the product line,
and those persons must retool and upgrade for free, every 10 years for a lifetime,
with all previous experience erased when the products went offline, and
my attic is testimony to 1200bit mag-reel tapes, 8" floppies, 6" floppies, baby
floppies, cassette tapes, Digital mini disks, 120Mb backup cartridges, exobyte tapes,
and a whole career of obsoleted experience, antiquated with the old version,
and bring in the new college graduates so we can sell them off 10 years from now
with the same scam.

3. Calling for impeachment
The true "calling" for this generation - for humanity in general - should be the calling for the necks of the criminal current WH administration, traitors to our country.

4. Ha...
Okay, I do possess the biggest, baddest Ipod Apple makes.
But I need it to keep my favorite JFK speeches handy.

Especially his nomination acceptance speech.
What's on yours?
