I don't want to drive the speed limit, I have to get somewhere FAST
I think I shouldn't get a ticket simply because I'm breaking the law, I have a good reason I have to drive fast every time and besides, I don't agree that the speed limit should be so slow. Instead of me waiting for the legislature to change the law, and raise the speed limit, I'm just going to do what I want and wait for them to give me a ticket and take me to court... if they catch me.

1. I would love to present that argument in court

It perfectly illustrates what W is doing. Better yet, make that case to every GOPper you encounter, and see what their response is!

Please diregard any obstacles you may think you see, especially the large truck-shaped ones. They are merely mirages, and you can drive right through them. Go faster!!! :applause:

4. Whoa, did you read my mind?
I think those exact same thoughts whenever I get into my car.

Oops, damn, I shouldn't have typed that into this post.

I better not hit the "Post Message" button.

5. And besides, by driving fast, I defeat the terrorists
You haven't seen any terrorist attacks, have you? Proves my point right there.

No, the anthrax killer was not a terrorist. The DC snipers weren't terrorists, either. Abortion clinic bombings aren't terrorism, so stop saying that.

Gotta go for a drive now, so we'll all be safe.

6. I was just wondering what simple analog could be used to get that
across to the dopes that say "It's ok if he spies on me, huh, huh."

The question now that we know he got there to fast to have obeyed the law, how do we get the golden boy in court, prove it beyond a reasonable doubt and get his license taken away?

8. But Clinton and Carter and Kennedy sped before I did. But not RayGun.
Of course Clinton Carter and Kennedy did it with a police escort and I did it alone. But never mind since I am not the first one to speed I am not guilty. Will this argument fly for robbing banks too?

16. Gee, Just like the President- but people driving in traffic didn't
take an oath to obey the laws and uphold the Constitution- Ass did.

17. But the Constitution says his most solumn duty is to protect
the American people, whatever it takes.

At least his copy does. I can't find it in mine.

18. Actually it would be funnier...
Edited on Thu Dec-29-05 08:54 PM by ddeclue
If when the cop stopped you, you gave them a note from your attorney (signed R. Gonzalez, Esquire), who had thoroughly "researched" the matter, stating that you were personally entitled to speed as much as you would like and that the matter didn't require a ticket or a court date...

However, given the shoot first, handcuff later policy we just saw in New Orleans, this may not be the wisest choice...
