We cannot relax in 2006. We cannot slip back into the evil of apathy and complacency that the neocons rejoice in. We need to keep pounding, working, and fighting. We need to support organizations like Gold Star Families for Peace, Veterans for Peace ( http://www.veteransforpeace.org / ), Code Pink (www.codepink4peace.org ) and Iraq Veterans Against the War (www.IVAW.net ), or the Peace organization of your choice so we can continue our struggle for peace with justice. We need to support true American patriots like John Conyers who is calling for an investigation and censure for the lies that have cost us so much of our national human treasure.

...but I think there is lasting value to posting this as a stand-alone, and by no means are we alone. Cindy's and many more organizations are part of the AFTERDOWNINGSTREET.ORG umbrella organization...

Stand up to the powers that malign the innocent as you read this. Stand up and be counted amongst those who will not enable an imperialistic nocturnal emission. Stand with your brothers and sisters and hear the call for peace and justice, and let it catalyze your very soul into action.

Stand with those how marched before us so that these crimes would not be done over and over again in your name. Like peaceful warriors our time is now, we are the ones we have been waiting for and we shall not cower from the armies of corruption, greed, misery and war. I just became aware of this group about three months ago. I am now helping to put together a "Out of Iraq" Town Hall forum with Congressman Adam Smith on January 7 in Tacoma, Washington. Our Micah Project of First United Methodist Church is the site host for this meeting. The registration is through www.afterdowningstreet.org/event

...we invited all the reps and senators, but none have bellied up to the bar (to their credit, Meehan, Frank, Tierney, McGovern and Olver have done forums).

So we will be having John Bonifaz as speaker, with entertainment by Even Greer and Owen Plant.

Howard Zinn says Even reminds him of Phil Ochs. I agree.

You're right. The neocons need to know that it's time to go, run and hide, request asylum somewhere (maybe that tiny Kingdom where Michael Jackson is located).

This whole process, the resistance to * & co.., is complicated by a brain dead media. Nevertheless, the public is fully behind an end to the madness. Maybe our "leaders" will wake from their slumber just in time to get some of the credit.
