Call right wing radio, get the message out

It's great that we have air america but the knowledge that we do gain from these stations needs to be disseminated. My idea is to call all right wing shows and let the know the truths on economy, war and the aftermath of Katrina. Always best to make out that you are a right winger to get past the screeners. Just a suggestion but it might just work.

Start the mantra 'Joe Lieberman is a loser.' If they can brainwash so can we.

1. We need to come across with good arguments not just name calling or

2. Yeah, but...

That is fine but we are talking about people who think with their fists first. They have been brought up on sound bites. It's ok if you are against mantras, good arguments are fine too. It just seems to me that the right are more prepared to listen to us via their radio show than by any other means. Strange but true.

4. Beyond that...

...remember that the show's host always has the "nuclear option" at his or her disposal: the disconnect button that guarantees the host the "last word." However well-thought-out your arguments may be, if most right-wing hosts sense they're losing an argument, they'll end (or, as Rush Limpbaugh puts it, "abort") your call. Since there's a tape delay, they might even be able to prevent the point you made from ever making it on the air. Then, they'll spend the next few minutes in a monologue trashing you and your views (and, usually, make a point of taking fanboy callers in the next few minutes who will join in agreeing with them that you were an idiot). Since you don't have a chance to respond, it will appear to the vast majority of the listeners out there that they completely wiped the floor with you.

Realize that a "debate" with most right-wing hosts is a little like a professional wrestling bout -- the result is fixed in advance, and the game is rigged to give your opponent every advantage.

3. Hell, call up, pretend to be a rabid GOP supporter, and DEMAND a draft

Say, if it wuz good enuff fer the Nam era, it's good enough fer these punks now-a-dayz!!!! Ev-ree one should support the Prez-dent!!! War without end, CRUSADE fer George and Jeebus!

Play it to the max, totally sincere...all these blowhards listening to talk radio and rah-rahing the Monkey will feel the gonadal retreat, as they realize that they or their children could be next up at bat to go in harm's way. It ain't so much fun when the "choice" to join the fray is taken away....

5. That might be the only way to fight them on their turf...

...instead of trying to debate them, pose as a wingnut and discredit their whole side by acting like a complete jackass. Demand that we pull our troops out, then immediately nuke Iraq. Call for the death penalty for illegal immigrants. Recommend replacing welfare (?) with mandatory indentured servitude. Suggest that we should go back to "the good old days," when only males could vote. Pose as a "Christian reconstructionist" and advance the most extreme application of "Biblical law," like making clothing of blended fabrics illegal under pain of death, that would be guaranteed to negatively affect the most people (or come across as a traditionalist Roman Catholic, and call for a return to family values by outlawing divorce and forcing everyone already divorced and remarried to leave their new spouse and live a celibate life from then on). Urge America to intensify the War On Drugs by bringing back Prohibition. As a "Second Amendment Patriot," demand that every child be given lessons in firearms training in school. Suggest that, since Israel is so dependent on us, we should officially make it a U.S. protectorate (like Guam or Puerto Rico -- we'd make it the 51st state, but aren't sure America needs that many more Jews), and send the troops in if the Israelis insist on keeping their independence.

The point would be to come up with something that would cause the host to demur -- then attack them for being a "closet liberal."

6. Yep, you have to make them retch a bit, and avert their eyes

They need to understand that those views are the views of their ugly crew.

And all you'll be doing, really, is emulating the beliefs of the mouth breathing twenty two percent, who will pull the lever for the God's Ordained Party no matter what, but are too stupid to remember an eight hundred number to dial in to a talk show!

7. Take a stupid pill, have someone knock a few teeth

out of your mouth, put in a wad of Red Man Chewing tobacco and call a right-wing show. Sounds painful! I couldn't do it, but I'll wave a flag for the brave ones who do it!
