And you gutted our civics courses in high school so we really wouldn't know our rights even if we thought there was any way to stand up for them.

Thank the moms and dads. After a adolescence of freedom fighting, they freaked out and did a 180 and made us into the very sheep they tried so hard not to be.

But hey, don't worry they'll get theirs. I don't think a bunch of sheep with no moral fiber are going to do a very good job running all those nursing homes. Too bad the good will likely suffer with the bad.

Reaganites revolted against the gains we made, and the corporatist and the media joined the reactionaries. Yeah, some of us are to blame, some aren't. I see a good number still out on the front lines fighting against the authoritarians of the right. Too many have been intimidated into silence, too many have given in to the Stockholm syndrome.

Ruppert should have stayed in they US and fought the power.

When I was considering not returning to the US, I met a lady who convinced me that it was my duty to return and fight for our country. That lady was Mariam Mekeba. She was in the Dakar airport waiting for a plane to the US. I was having serious cold feet. I wanted to stay in Africa. I wanted to disassociate myself from the crimes we were committing in Vietnam. I wanted to keep my humanity by not being swallowed by the American machine.

That the baby boomers, who rebelled against a generation of self-complacence, stability, strong morals and mores, should have made it easy for you. I'm not sure I understand why your generation couldn't do what we did. We rebelled against the "Greatest Generation" that had made a comfortable, stable, life as exemplified by the 1950s and early 1960s.

I guess what you're saying is you want someone else to do if for you. yawn.
