Paul Krugman of the NY Times wins the quote of the day!!!!
"So I have a question for my colleagues in the news media: Why isn't the decision by the White House to stonewall on the largest corruption scandal since Warren Harding considered major news?" (1/20, NY Times)

:woohoo:

1. The Corporate Media is the GOP Media
Anyone who doesn't see it is a gullible fool.

2. Hey Paul - you are a TOKEN moderate for the GOPcontrolled newsmedia -
YOU are the one who is out of place. The others are all doing their jobs for the corporate, fascist agenda.

22. He's not a token anything; he's an economist with a conscience
IIRC Paul Krugman was hired by the NYT for his expertise in Economics. Thankfully, however, he sees the world broadly -- when he writes about the economic impact of Bush admin policies he is quite clear about what that means to ordinary mortals, not just Wall Street traders and corporate raiders.

I have long seen him as a voice of sanity.

3. I wanted to write Paul the other day
His column on health care was excellent.

And now this . . .

But the NYTimes put their emails behind a subscriber firewall. I think I will see if I can find his email address through his university affiliation.

I want to thank him for consistently being a truth teller, and so gracefully handling the crap storm from the right that results.

8. I hate their little firewall.
You can access the link in the post every day and read most of the NY Times op/eds.

9. I think it is a big mistake
Both the NYTimes and the WaPost seem to be on suicide missions, blocking access to the tiny bit of enlightenment they still allow on their op-ed pages.

Although they did have a good editorial on the NSA spying case the other day. Occasional glimpses of sanity . . . too few and far between . . .

10. It is tragically sad, what has happened to American Journalism.
After fighting our Revolutionary War for such rights as "Freedom of The Press", two hundred twenty plus years later, the press puts chains on them selves.

Kicked and nominated.

11. I have SO lost respect for Journalists
Granted there are a few honest hard-hitting folks out there...
but on the whole... the media has proven to be spineless,
corrupt and downright lazy. I am so disappointed....

and I hope they prove me wrong and restore my faith.

13. Very nice. But i don't expect this to be a topic in the MSM
Which means it will have very little effect on Krugman's colleagues in the news media.

The repugs are all too happy to buy into the crap the White House spins for them. Idiots that they are. :-)

16. The thing is, of course, this being in the NY Times makes the
"journalists" at least aware of what's going on; the Times is where anyone worth their salt usually go first. It would be nice if Krugman shamed them into it. And they have the nerve to parrot Dems have no spines. :grr:

I know the link I posted normally has most of the NY Times articles that aren't for free on their website. Here is the link again:
