Cafferty
I'm really glad that DU has come around on this guy. I've always liked Jack Cafferty, and one time last year I posted something positive about him when he was on his old morning show concerning another incident where he blasted bushco, and I almost got lynched by some Cafferty haters here. Apparently, he said something at one time that really irked a lot of DUers, which was explained to me later in the thread. I don't blame them for being upset at what he might've said in that instance, even though I learned from other posters in Cafferty's defence that he had said it quite flippantly. The thing is, guys like him are not always going to say the things we like to hear 100% of the time, and there are always going to be "incidents".

Just try to keep in mind, though, that the next time he says something that sounds to you that he's catering a little towards the OTHER side, that MOST of the time he says some pretty good shit that we can relate to. From what I've ever heard come out of Jack's mouth, I'll wager that the bad guys get pissed at him way more than our side does. For sake of analogy, Cafferty could come on this forum and delight us with 90% of his posts, I'm sure. The other 10% of the time, he'd piss some of us off. Don't dwell on that 10%. He's not going to be just like any one of us ALL of the time, and sometimes I think we expect way too much out of people like him.

No one is perfect (except whoever happens to be on this forum banging away at the keys at any given time). Cafferty just speaks his mind and says it like it is, in his opinion. I find him to be one of the most refreshing commentators on the tube and I wish he was still on in the morning when I was still home to see him before heading out to work.

1. I would argue that you could say that about most mainstream journalists...

For every post screaming and bitching about Dana Milbank or whomever here at DU, there's an equally vitriolic post at Free Republic.

2. I don't disagree
It's only human nature, afterall, that we remember what was said last, not what was said before.
