Electronic Voting Machines with printed record (who knows about these)

I'm in a position to suggest this to some people who can make the decision on what to use.

I have heard about these types of systems in which you vote on a touch screen but when you are done it prints out a voter verifiable record of how you voted and that goes into a box for safe storage which can later be used to make sure the vote was accurate.

Can anybody point me to these?

1. I know we were supposed to have printed receipts last November

Literature was mailed to homes showing people the new machine, telling them how to use it.
When I got to the poll, I did not see a printed receipt.
The concept as I was told prior to the election at a Democratic club meeting was that the receipt would be printed when you clicked submit your vote and then you would place that receipt in the ballot box.
It did not happen that way. No printed receipt, no ballot box.
Did my vote get changed? I have no way to know.

2. We have an ES&S machine in our county which DOES have the ability

to print out a chit after voting. The votes themselves are the scratch out by pencil or pen kind, and then scanned. although the machines have the capability to print out the chits, the county opted not to do it. I haven't found out why yet, but I suspect it's because they decided to save money.

Mecklenburg buying touch-screen vote machines

Mecklenburg voters soon will start using touch screen machines, and they can review a paper record to verify their votes, after the county ordered new equipment to comply with state and federal laws.Almost every county in the state must buy machines to meet the new requirements, such as the paper audit and disability access. Headphones will now be available for vision-impaired voters.

The county commissioners voted unanimously Wednesday to spend $5.4 million over three years on the machines. Another $2.4 million will come from the state and federal governments.
