My views on the 9-11 attacks.

9-11 appeared as blowback as a result of secret US - Taliban foreign policy that went awry between Jan 2001 and July 2001.

Bush had an invasion plan of Aghanistan on the shelf before July 2001. The Cheney Energy task force involved oil and oil pipelines and Afghanistan and Iraq.

Ever since 9-11-2001 the Republicans have had their hair on fire attempting to shift attention and blame away from them for their weakness and failure on national defense.

THEY FAILED.

Where Republicans tread, innocent people end up dead.

9. When they offered to hand us bin Laden...

...with the caveat that they be shown the evidence that he was behind 9/11 (a requirement of any country to extradite a citizen or resident alien), why did we refuse to do so and attack them anyway?

If BushCo had taken them up on the offer, best case would be that we'd have bin Laden. Worst case would be the current situation. Why didn't we want to talk to them about it? (and again, requiring proof of a prima facie case is standard procedure in extraditions from almost ANY country).

can't go to 911 forum. Oh well. I don't think Taliban had much to do with 911 other than being in same country as some of the perpretrators were (maybe) (maybe). Oil. Money. That is the answer.

You either accept our carpet of gold or you get our carpet of bombs and the Taliban got Al Qaeda to hit us first in a preemptive strike which the Republicans failed to defend against.

I do not believe Bush got caught by surprise in the classic way. He was waiting for the Taliban to fall in line and accept the pipelines through Afghanistan, throughout August, 2001. Then September came and when the attacks came Bush knew something went awry in his foreign policy with the Taliban.
