After talking to Doug Basham tonight, I wrote a LTTE to help people realize the cost of this foolish war. I hope to inspire some support to spread the word. Write your own LTTE to your local paper and help wake up the sleeping public.

Casualties of war don't always die on the battlefield

This past week one of our brave men in uniform became another casualty of war. He won't be counted as KIA because he had come home to Opaleika, AL almost two years ago. That two years was a constant struggle trying to deal with the horrors of what he had seen and trying to get help from the VA. Spc. Douglas Barber died by his own hand, but I can not consider it suicide.
We owe our military support that goes beyond a bumper sticker and platitudes. We must put soldiers in harms way only when absolutely necessary and care for those injured without question or delay. I am ashamed to say that we have failed in both cases.
