HEADLINE: White House: Democrats' extreme left defeated Lieberman
Edited on Wed Aug-09-06 03:19 PM by Bluebear
Um, is the White House campaigning during their "working" vacation? Is Snow being paid to give partisan speeches like he was still on Fox News? 'W' must be POWERFULLY depressed that his kissin' fool has gone down in defeat!
====

CRAWFORD, Texas (Reuters) - The White House accused the Democratic Party on Wednesday of catering to the extreme left after Connecticut voters defeated Sen. Joe Lieberman in a primary election over his support of the Iraq war.

Foreshadowing a debate likely to play itself out in November congressional elections, White House spokesman Tony Snow called the election a defining moment for the Democratic Party.

"I know a lot of people have tried to make this a referendum on the president. I would flip it. I think instead it's a defining moment for the Democratic Party whose national leaders now have made it clear that if you disagree with the extreme left in their party, they're going to come after you," he said.

1. How about we spin it this way
The Democratic Party has made it clear that if you disagree with the BASE party values, they're gonna fire them.

11. Snow was right about one thing, this is a defining moment
too bad he's such a freakin moran that he tries in his pathetic, vain way to insult anyone who voted their conscience. In spite of what I have been reading from some DU'ers (mostly new ones, surprise) that this election was bad news for Dems, it looks to me like people are starting to pay attention. The swift boating isn't working, the spin is losing it's luster, and Americans are not taking what the government is saying at face value anymore. While they are spinning up a tornado in public, you can bet your ass these guys are crapping in their pants behind closed doors. Especially the ones trying to get re-elected.

12. Only when you define "centrist" as pro-war, pro-corporatist
That puts a large majority of the Democrat rank-and-file in the "extreme left" category, methinks.

Calling this a win for the weak on security radical left. That's how they are playing it; it's no surprise.

30. So let me try to get this straight
Anyone who is not a Bush butt-kisser is an "extreme leftist"? Fine with me.

I think what they're really starting to realize is that there actually is a sizable number of people who want an alternative that represents the opposite of Bush. They're surprised by this?

They can call us angry, extreme, or flying purple monkeys, for all I care. The bottom line is that they're going to get their asses handed to them and THEY KNOW IT.
