Has this been a dull week for news?
Or is it just me? Do you think that Bush's sit-down with the editors of major newspapers has resulted in less news reporting, or is a lot less happening in the world this week?

3. That Wasn't This Week Though. We've Known About That For A Month

:)

This has been a relatively non-event week other than a few NSA revelations, but then it is the holiday week so I expect things will pick up more soon.

9. So are we going to do anything about it or just let it happen?

2. I'm so bored, I'd go for a raw story: breaking hard...

4. Almost everyone is on vacation during the holidays,
so even if there are newsworthy events happening, they probably won't come to light until after the New Year.

5. It's the holidays and is usually a slow news time
I'm getting bored to death, though. Nothing new on Raw Story...I must check it 10 times a day.

Let's say we take back both houses of Congress next November and we rid ourselves of the evil empire -- what will we do to entertain ourselves when (and if) the world quiets down and we have no more scandals, indictments, corruption, lies, etc. What will we do if someday peace and prosperity reign?

It would be a nice problem to have, I guess, but I somehow doubt we have anything to worry about.

Happy New Year, everyone!

6. I Think the Week is Going Well
Just look at the front page of DU. There have been some heavy hitting articles on this maladministration. At least that's my opinion.

I had surgery about a week ago and I have been house-bound since Wednesday of last week.
Not much to do.
I'm working my way through two or three books.
I've watched some DVDs.
I've plopped myself down for a whole boat load of NFL and college football.
And of course, I have been watching the news.
Cable and Network.

Lot's of hot monkey love on CNN and MSRNC.
They just can't say enough good things about the Chimp in Charge.

Lot's of planes in jeopardy, lot's of bad weather, lots of human interest stories.
None of which (of course) are news.

Wolf the Whore kicked Pres. Carter to the curb for some brush fires in Texas and Oklahoma.
Hey, I feel sorry for those folks that have lost their homes and possessions but that is a local story.
Certainly not worthy of dominating the national news cycle for two days.

This morning about knocked me off my chair.
A full 10 minutes on MSRNC about some guy who got tricked into thinking that he won the lottery by his drunk ass, stoned friends.

They were all "live" on the insipid "Today" show this morning.

News coverage in this country has become a joke.

Why?

Because there isn't any coverage.

10. Hey, what about Yahoo news & another holiday executive order
Bush has signed an order where the No. 3 spot in the pentagon will be filled by Stephen Cambone, the No. 1 fellow on Pentagon intelligence. The No. 2 position that is vacant might be filled during this recess before the Senate goes back by, sorry, don't remember his name. He has been named to fill the vacant No. 2 Pentagon position. This to me is sooo big. It is more of the closing of the ranks around bush. Intelligence is their main goal in fighting terror. Leave the tanks at home. Sheesh. What's new.
