Today I participated in Freeway Blogging against Israeli as well as
agression and came home to watch the Connecticut primary results come in - desperate for Lamont to winS.

This is what being raised in the Jewish religion taught me to believe. Stand up for your principles and act to try to protect people who cannot protect themselves. And it's why I left organized religion behind 30 years ago.

What has my religion taught you Joe? Honesty? Fairness? Loyalty? I think not.

Good riddance.

1. I don't know you so I hope you will not mind if I say something

And I am not really sure what freeway blogging is, but it sounds like you did something really brave. I have a really good friend that is Jewish and I went to his house today because we were going to go volunteer for this community thing helping immigrants but when I got to his house he and his sister were crying because they were reading the news on the internet. Anyway he told me about this organization called Bet Salem, I don't think I have it spelled right but they are in Israel trying to help people with human rights, and they have a website, you can send donations to them and because they are in Israel it won't count as terrorism to donate to them. The link is http://www.btselem.org/ if you or anybody else wants to. Anyway just wanted to let you know that you are not the only Jewish person who is sad. While I was there his parents came home and he was showing them the news and they cried too, even his dad who is a karate instructor and then he went to pray at their synagog and we talked his sister into coming with us to do the immigrants thing so she could at least be doing something for somebody and get her mind off of it. I hope I didn't break any rules saying all this, I didn't mean to. I also thought maybe people would want to know about the human rights organization there.

2. Thank you FKS! Of course I don't mind. That's what DU is about
 I really appreciate the link and the kind thoughts. I will share the link with all of my friends.

Here in Houston, we have several small bridges over one of our main freeways. Every Tuesday we stand over at least one (yesterday 3) of the bridges with anti-war signs. You can see some photos here: http://www.houstonfreewayblogger.com/. Every week we have more protesters and get a more positive response. People in all kinds of vehicles honk for us and it's an amazing experience.

Please give your friends a hug for me. :grouphug:

3. I would like to do something like that!

I will check around, and find out if it is legal in my town. I mean I know technically it is supposed to be legal, but you know how it is. I think that there are more people against all the attacks and occupations etc. than anybody in the media would ever guess, we are just all to scared to say so. Well at least we can say it here!

Thank you for the hug! I think I did that right!
