Does anyone know how many active Hezbollah Israel is facing?

I previously read that "active" Hezbollah only number around 500-700. I read that there are a lot of "reserves" -- estimated as being between 10,000 to 20,000. The "reserves" were supposed to be poorly trained and weren't considered a serious opposition.

So what's happening? Are the "reserves" taking up arms? I'm just puzzled about what is supposedly happening here. Who, exactly, is Israel fighting?

1. It's a Shia militia and more

Numbers are estimates at best.

2. I wish the media would tell us a little. All they do is

show blown up buildings on both side of the border and talk about "fierce fighting". Little about casualties or numbers of people involved.

3. Some are in remote villages

Hilltops and valleys ... air and ground fire - I'm not surprised journalists are keeping a safe distance. They've all said it's much worse in Baghdad.
