“Peace is not something you wish for; It's something you make, Something you do, Something you are, And something you give away.”Peace Chalkin’ Youngsters - F16 Best Artwork of the Day:
Collaborative peace chalking at the Embarcadero.
Powerful artwork – some onlookers begin to cry as they watched the artists at work.
In using the symbol of modern war,
I chose to portray bombs in a material
associated with protecting the human body.
This incongruity between image and medium,
between destruction and nurturance
raises consideration of the human cost of war.
A family-sized grouping suggests the lasting
effect of military conflict on several generations.
The ultimate question is “How big is my family?

This piece includes both peace and the conflict which is represented by the dove and the angered eye. These images were hand drawn. The brick wall symbolizes the thick divide between the opposing view points represented by the superimposed images. The background illustrates portions of different sizes of the phrase that is embedded on the brick wall. I feel it has an influential effect on the viewer. The contrasting color choices and varying font sizes aid in portraying this.
