9. americanstranger...you might just have to wait for C&L to post it....
Keith referred to a spot on "The Whactor".....er...."OLielly's show last night wherein he railed against folks (in the mainstream media, of course) taking Mel Gibson to task for his asinine antics of late.

I wish i could elaborate more but i am still laughing too hard and i KNOW Crooksandliars.com and www.mediamatters.org will have it for you tomorrow.

19. Yeah, I can wait for it.
I realize that when KO starts to roll, there's simply too much to put into a neat summary.

Thanks for the heads-up, tho. I'll be sure and check C&L for the clip.

20. Because
El Rushbo played what was allegedly a tape of a democratic (I believe) congressman (I am so sorry, but at the moment neither my husband nor I can remember who the congressman was) answering a question on Hezbollah that made it sound like he supported them. Then of course Flush went appropriately apoplectic. The problem is that the tape had been, um, let's say "doctored" and the congressman's whole answer was something along the lines of he did not support the use of violence by Hezbollah.

I know, I know - who could ever imagine the Great Limbo stooping so low. :sarcasm:

10. This almost deserves a thread of it's own but...O'Reilly is SUCH a fucking
wanker!

I've noticed just exactly how many books have been written in the last 40 years suggesting Walter Cronkite has a bias or stretches the truth.

Anyone?

Anyone?

Bueller?

answer?

NONE!!!!

How many authors have felt it necessary to take Peter Jennings to task because he "Spun" the news or wasn't "Fair and Balanced" during the course of his...quite frankly LEGENDARY career?

Answer?

NOT FUCKING ONE!!!

How many books have been written directly about or referring directly to Bill O'Reilly since he started working for Fox?

At LEAST 3!!!!!!!

Three!! Jesus, Mary and Joseph what does it take to get that asshole to realize he is playing the part of the class nimrod?

I am stunned.

12. He doesn't get a clue. That's what makes Keith's job so easy.
All he has to do is get the gun and point it down the barrel at the fish.

Tonight was brilliant. To sum up: he quoted from and showed a bit of a clip from last night's Whacked-'Er show in which Bill-O and Gerald-O were going to town on people on OTHER networks saying such nasty things about poor Mel Gibson. Bill-O danced around the fact that he really meant Keith, and Geraldo tried to egg him on to just say his name--"Just say 'that schmuck from MSNBC.'" (Nice to see Geraldo's up on his Yiddish, isn't it?). Which Bill refused to do, as always, because "it just gives him more publicity."

DUH! Earth to Bill: That bus left the station a LONG time ago! That's what Keith was essentially saying. It's a bit late for Bill-O to shut the barn door and not make his audience realize who he's talking about. Keith was saying "Are you afraid that if you tell them who I am, they're all going to switch to me and you'll lose them all in one night?"

He also laughed at Geraldo for being reduced to playing Bill's sidekick and repeating "I agree, I agree" all the time.

Comedy gold.

14. Scary thought, isn't it?
Then again, I thought maybe Bill meant, like Grandmaster Flash!

Seriously, he's always going on about how if Keith's "masters" would just rein him in and keep him in line, he wouldn't be able to attack poor Bill anymore, so it's really their fault. Yeah, he thinks Keith has "masters" at MSNBC. Go figure.

Of course, we all know why Bill's so upset at the media's treatment of Mel...it brings back many unpleasant memories of loofahs and falafels for him.

15. "Sweet Jesus, I Hate Bill O'Reilly" - the book
I'm about halfway through. It is laugh-out-loud funny!!

Sweet Jesus, I Hate Bill O'Reilly" is destined to be a classic. The authors delve deeply into the shallow psyche of America's most-watched sputtering, loudmouthed douchebag (GWB excluded). They leave no falafel unturned. The "Talking Points" of this tome concern a cable TV nitwit who has an "Impact" only upon his fellow nitwits, and who details in his "Factor Followup" segments the pathetic "Unresolved Problems" of his sad "Personal Story". What the hell is the difference between the named "segments" of the O'Liely Factor, anyway? Bill O'Reilly is looking out for himself....not you, dipstick.

****

Using O'Reilly's own words and record, Amann & Breuer show just how big a blowhard jerk this guy is. And if that wasn't enough, they also provide the sources to show how wrong he is whenever he attempts to prove his ridiculus assertions.

****

The authors of this book brilliantly expose the bloated ego of Bill O'Reilly -- and do it with his own words. Using transcripts from his show, the authors reveal the hypocrisy, paranoia, insecurity and pettiness that reduces him to being the clown that he is.

The funny thing here is that the authors claim he's not just a liar, but insane. It's not so much that Bill's a bad guy, they argue in his defense; he's a sociopath (and pretty dumb, too).

What raises this to the level of Franken's "Lying Liars" is that Amann and Bruer are simply funny guys. It's obvious that the subject matter is inconsequential -- these guys could cut any figure down to size with their trenchant humor.

This is a must for anyone who's sick of Bill O'Reilly, but even if you have no opinion of him, or aren't particularly political, you'll enjoy this book.

Amann and Breuer talk about being "whiter" than O'Reilly...because they have fewer liver spots.
