I may be crazy..
but I am watchin Countdown, and for the first time in I dont know how long, I am feeling a shift.

Some may argue that its the four beers I have had so far...but I don't think so.

This is the first I am seeing of the hearings today with Dipshit Rumsfeld and the balance appears to be shifting...He is so obviously full of shit and someone in congress is actually taking about standing up to this administration of bullies and sayting " if it gets any worse, you will need OUR permission to continue"

Am I over optimistic, or are people, and our democratice leaders, actually waking up and saying that we are through with this bullshit?

If I'm right, its about goddamn time.

Peace..Steve

1. I don't usually jump onboard these "shifting tides" threads...
...because the tide never seems to actuall shift. Or turn. Or whatever tides do. We've said "the tide is turning" and "I feel a shift" so many times on DU that CU and other boards have pre-made comic graphics ready to post when a DUer says "the tide is turning" for the eleventy-hundreth time.

But you know what? All across the board, things really do appear to be getting tough on BushCo. There is only so far you can pull a scam before the scammed catch on, and I think were finally approaching that point. Maybe not actually there yet, but I do agree with your assessment...most of the press lately has (finally) begun to get tough on Chimpy lately. Whoopee. That means they'll finally start asking real tough questions on about the day he leaves office. At which point, they'll blame all the worlds' woes on Clinton and incoming democrats.

I've seen this episode many times.

13. I wouldn't put too much credence...
On the dunces at CU and other boards like that.

After all, I am told the real action on CU is in the hidden autofellatio forum. ;-)

2. Its the four beers
;) :toast:

I don't know about the shift but I am with you on the beers...
The world is effing depressing...was at a Sierra Club booth for 3 hours today and met a guy who thinks we have ruined some aspects of our environment beyond repair...

I have hope and I believe in working for a better world no matter what happens but the beer is helping...

3. There's always a "shifting tide"
Like the Iraqi resistance is in its "last throes."

I'll believe it when our people are sworn in.

7. Amen Contra
I appreciate your skepticism. We need to keep POSITIVE for November though, if we want to succeed. I truly believe that.

Everyone should spread the word starting now, and get people to the polls.

4. Hey
I hear you all, and maybe I am jumping the gun.

I really haven't posted here enough to realize that there are other threads like this posted. I should have figured though!

Listen, I am not saying its an overnight thing, or that we are in the clear...I just wanted to post and let you all know that for the firts time in awhile, I actually felt the tide shift...if even for a brief moment.

I read this forum everyday, and sometimes I get down about whats happening..I know we all do...I just felt that tonight, maybe things moved our way, if just a little bit!

Everyone keep your heads up and keep the posts coming...I owe my semi-sanity to this place...in part anyway.

Oh, and I am on beer six now!...and I'm still feeling positive.

Check in if you're with me!

I may have just had sleep in my eyes, but Hillary dropped a bomb on Rumsfeld.

I understand the skepticism. But I invite everybody to watch the actual questioning.

12. Unfortunately
I would base the buzz killing on the recent lackluster actions of Congress. I really hope you are right, but I am not hopeful.
