I spoke with my mom on the phone last night as you might have heard. We were discussing the middle east and my mom suggested that we drop a nuke on the whole place. I think she should be arrested, because how else are you going to have Haliburton cash in and where else are you going to get your oil. You may want to keep this call in your records just in case my mother makes anymore outlandish statements in support of terrorism. I disagree with her, and think she should be locked up.

I called my mother (she's 82) in Phoenix on Christmas Day. I'm in Toronto, so that makes it an international call.

Before we even exchanged holiday greetings, I reminded her of the people who were probably listening in. Without missing a beat, mom -- raised to be courteous in all circumstances -- said, "Oh, you're right, dear. MERRY CHRISTMAS to all of you out there; hope you all have a happy and healthy New Year!"

We then, as always, got into ranting about what an idiot Bush is ...
