Could you support an Al Gore / Howard Dean ticket ??
Doesn't that sound like a ticket from the "Democratic wing" of the Democratic Party? :) We can dream, can't we?

I'd have no problem supporting that ticket.

I'm still looking for Gen. Clark to run, though. :)

Dream ticket, Dream ticket, Al Gore is one of the few with the experience to
be president, you really have to know how to work with congress, 1 or 2 terms
as gov don't necessarily give you the depth required, look at GWB.

on their campaign tours just to be a part of the team that will lead the way to the re-establishment of Democracy in the United States. There are some other good Dems that I would be as supportive of for the VP slot, i.e. Conyers,Boxer, Clark, Edwards, Fiengold and maybe even Kerry after his strong support yesterday of Gore's positions as outlined in the speech on the 16th.

46. Let Gore pick his own running mate
If Gore would be the nominee, I'm sure he will not pick Joe Lieberman again.

The main reason he did that in 2000 was to show that he did not approve of President Clinton's behavior in the Oval Office, and then lying about it (to Hillary, to VP Gore, to the nation).

If Gore runs again then I think he would pick someone who agrees with him on the most important issues: Iraq, PATRIOT Act, defending the US Constitution, etc.

There are many qualified candidates. How about a woman? Maybe Barbara Boxer or Diane Feinstein (who at least did show up to see Gore's speech at Constitution Hall on Monday).

My point is: it's a decision that a candidate can only make after he or she has the nomination all sewn-up. Because sometimes you will pick one of the other primary candidates.

51. You know what I could really support?
Having a day go by without fans asking me if I could support a ticket with Dean, or Clark, or Hillary on it.

I'm way beyond looking for American Idol candidates. Howard Dean is the chairman of the DNC. In a position of leadership. Why is that not enough for the fan club? Why must he be constantly pushed toward the WH? He's doing an important job. I say let him do it.

Here's the ticket I could "support" at any time: A progressive ticket with two strong, clean candidates placed there by their own hard work for progressive issues, and by a selection process that looks at issues and records, not by a popularity contest run by fan clubs.

*Please note: this post makes no comment at all about the qualifications, or lack thereof, of any Democrats named. It simply points out the effect of what this poster sees as "fan" posts: irritation with the "American Idol" mentality.

and at this point, that's pretty drastic. Gore at the top with Dean or Feingold for the V.P. spot. is an ABSOLUTE win.
