MIke Malloy's blog: Jonathan Tasini to be on tonight
TUESDAY Aug. 01 2006

NY Candidate for Senate Jonothan Tasini joins us on the program tonight!

And White House Spokesmodel Tony Snow dismissed yesterday's criticism from key Republican Senator Chuck Hagel, who suggested that Bush "policy" in the Mideast was contributing to the extreme crisis there. To the contrary, Snow maintained that US diplomacy was working just fine, thank you. Let's see . . . N. Korea has nukes, Iran wants them and Russia might help them get them; India and Pakistan are on the verge of nuclear war, China took our spy plane apart and laughingly sent it back in pieces, the Taliban is back in Afghanistan with a medieval vengeance and a bumper crop of opium; Syria is no longer an ally, our relationship with Lebanon is in peril, We're seen as murderers and occupiers in Iraq, which has fallen into civil war with thousands of American and Iraqi dead and tens of thousands of maimed and tortured, America has become almost universally hated in the world . . .

But hey, at least Tony Blair still likes us! No small feat because, as Bush explained, it wasn't always a given that the United Sates and America would have a close relationship.

So true.
