9. Maybe they think your posts are brilliant
and don't want them to end up in the abyss of the archives?

I don't know what your problem is.

I am a progressive Democrat. I am a new member. I have posted a lot of articles and quotes from leading progressive Democrats which are supportive of my position on this issue in my first six days as a member.

What exactly is your problem with that?

19. Yes, you've started a number of threads on these topics.
A great number. And each thread got a lot of responses. Hot button topics, for sure.

2. so, if you KNOW that it's done to "make that person look bad," why are
you then asking why people do it, when you've already stated why they do it?

See, my reply is just as circular as your post.

23. I don't know how to bookmark.
The only way I know how to keep tabs on a topic is by posting a reply on that thread.

How do you bookmark a thread?

25. At the very top of the thread, just above where it says
"Home » Discuss » General Discussion" on this thread, for instance, you will see an option for "Bookmark this thread". Click on it, and it is bookmarked. Then under your options you can go look at your bookmarks.

20. They aren't trying to make you look bad.
It means they want to kick your post up but don't have anything new to contribute. I kick up other people's posts quite often without remarking because I want other people to read it. I don't use that specific symbol but other people use different ones.

21. How can kicking it to the top make you look bad, unless the post IS bad?
Or unless they're kicking up a bunch of threads on the same topic posted in a few day's time to illustrate that fact?

22. are you talking about any specific threads ?
i know many times, it's done because people just want others to see the thread.

i'm sure it may have happened a few times when it was done to make someone look bad. such as they had been arguing over something and it was later found the person was wrong, so they kick it up to make them look bad. but it's nothing i have seen recently.
