Did Clinton's trip to Connecticut help Joe Lieberman ?

Understanding that many people, including DUers, respect Bill Clinton very much, will more people be inclined to vote for Lieberman after the Clinton visit? But, understanding also, that Bill Clinton has made some real boo-boos in his public life, will most people simply ignore the visit and it will have little effect? If some folks were sitting on the fence, not knowing who they were going to support, they may have moved to the Lieberman side? Any opinion?

1. it proved that Bill is a bigger man, in many ways) than Joe.

It will have no impact on the race. People are beginning to see through Joe's facade. They are rapidly tiring of him, his faux pius presentation and his humility - the kind that can be generated whenever a reporter or TV camera is in the area.

2. If he got Joe even ONE vote he wouldn't have had,

what he did was WRONG in my book. This is a race for the voters of CT to decide, and Clinton, and even more disappointingly, Boxer were absolutely wrong to insert themselves at this point in the campaign. WRONG. WRONG. WRONG. WRONG. WRONG.

3. I don't think it's going to have much impact. Lamont is already way up in

polls, and President Clinton didn't allow any media coverage of the event. I've heard that the event wasn't even a full house. I think it's pretty much under the radar except for us junkies.

(seeing as I'm not a CT voter). I can only say it wouldn't change my mind. I'd go to see Clinton speak, but for it to "change" my mind it would have to be that I was already undecided.

There's what--two weeks left until the Aug primary? It just seems to me that the number of people who haven't made up their mind is very small in numbers. :shrug: If Joe loses and goes Joe *wink*, it's going to get r-e-a-l-l-y ugly up to the November election day.

5. Well, they interviewed one older

Black woman that was there and was all excited to see Bill Clinton in person. When the reporter asked her if she was going to vote for Lamont she said "Hell, no! I just came here to see Bill Clinton." I think he may get some Lieberman supporters to go to the polls. But he isn't going to change the minds of any Lamont supporters. Its just a question of which side is more motivated on Aug. 8. By the way, Chris Dodd has an ad now promoting Lieberman. Saw it yesterday.

7. There was something posted about a movie on YouTube

That was about two Connecticut residents with tickets to the event that were turned away because they were recognized as Lamont supporters. I think one of them was a blogger who consistently panned Lieberman. They were there because they wanted to hear Clinton speak.

Joe already brown-noses Bush every chance he gets; he used Reagan quips in his debate against Lamont, and now he's using Bush-style tactics to keep dissenters away from him in public... yet he still calls himself a democrat?
