And if Lebanon is just now responding to the allegations that THEY hit the target. :shrug:

5. Bolton does not condemn it.
U.S. Ambassador John Bolton said in New York that the Security Council was informed that four officers with UNIFIL were killed, but he had no other information.

"We're obviously very sorry about that. We're attempting to get information where we can to confirm the nature of the incident," Bolton said.

13. Israel should now be considered a rogue nation...
<snip>
Rogue nation
From SourceWatch

According to The Free Dictionary (http://www.thefreedictionary.com/rogue%20nation), a rogue nation is "a Third World state that possesses weapons of mass destruction and sponsors terrorism."

The "Merriam-Webster American Collegiate dictionary defines rogue as: vicious and destructive; isolated and dangerous or uncontrollable.

The phrase as often used as a superfluous abstraction of "America's enemies" as defined by the US government.

"We cannot let terrorists and rogue nations hold this nation hostile or hold our allies hostile." — George W. Bush, Des Moines, Iowa, Aug. 21, 2000.†

32. Not quite totally insane just yet, that would have to involve a
...government on the level of that following the French Revolution under Maximilian Robespierre and his reign of terror from 1792-1794 or Pol Pot's Khmir Rouge in Cambodia in 1975-1979.

http://www.unitedhumanrights.org/Genocide/pol_pot.htm

Israel has not quite reached that level of total insanity, but they are well on their way if not stopped.

17. Kofi expressed shock
according to BBC International a few minutes ago. This will be the turning point. Silence from Buschco and Bolton will exacerbate UN anger. MSMachine's inability to present an unbiased position will be exposed yet again because they should condemn this in the same way as every other media on the planet. Indeed they all should hav been condeming the slaughter of innocents from day one.

This is madness. Kofi says apparently delberate targeting of UN Observers. Damn it's going to get real ugly in Rome in a few hours.

http://news.bbc.co.uk/2/hi/middle_east/5215366.stm
<snip>
Four United Nations peacekeepers have been killed in an Israeli air strike on an observation post in southern Lebanon, the UN has said.

A bomb struck the post occupied by the peacekeepers of the Unifil force in the Khiam area, it said.

UN Secretary General Kofi Annan said he was "shocked" at the "apparently deliberate targeting" of the post.

The attack came as Israel said it would control an area in southern Lebanon until international forces deployed.

Way over there?

Map of UNIFIL locations:
http://www.un.org/Depts/Cartographic/map/dpko/unifil.pdf

Download it and keep it handy, I think it'll be useful for reference.

Looks to be 3-4 miles or so from where Israeli artillery might be. I'm still guessing artillery.

40. Memories of the USS Liberty during the 1967 war.
That was on purpose. They were never held accountable, they never apologized. Our government sided with Israel against American sailors.

The Captain of the ship got the Congressional Medal of Honor, but to prevent embarrassment to Israel, the ceremony was held in an airplane hanger far from the eyes of the media. Usually such ceremonies are held in the White House.
