I wanted to let you know about two important events in Washington tomorrow which will highlight the growing Republican Culture of Corruption and how Democrats are fighting for honest leadership and open government.

Tomorrow afternoon Senate Democratic Leader Harry Reid, House Democratic Leader Nancy Pelosi, Senator Barak Obama, and I will be speaking at a major event in Washington to unveil the Democrats' Honest Leadership and Open Government Act. The entire Congressional Democratic Delegation will be joining us in the Great Hall of the Library of Congress, where we will spotlight the Republican "pay for play" politics that put special interests ahead of the priorities of the American people. The event is scheduled to start around 2:00 pm EST, and will be broadcast live on C-SPAN.

1. I really like Rep. Slaughter -- she's got the right name.

She may not be as widely known as some, but I first learned of her in a television segment that showcased how she fought back hard during one of her campaigns where she was "swiftboated," by local Republicans, and how she prevailed to keep her congressional seat.

She's one of my favorites in the House along with Schultz, Ryan, McDermott, Conyers, McKinney, Kucinich. There are so many great people in the House sometimes I wish could be in the Senate instead.
