I've got more important things to worry about than terrorism.
Edited on Wed Jan-18-06 05:59 AM by mopaul
I worried about it for a few days after nine eleven, but that's what they want you to do, worry your ass off about the next attack, Mo don't play that.

Something's gonna git me one way or the other, and a terror attack would make me just as croaked as a lightning bolt, but less likeley.

I have skyrocketing heating bills, and I worry about our healthcare system, and I worry about global warming, in between that I worry about the muggings in my neighborhood and roving bands of crack heads. And I worry about another great depression hitting us real soon, and wondering how I'd survive it.

I AIN'T worried about Osama bin Laden, or Al Zarqawi, or his second in command, or rejectionists, or Saddamists kicking in my door in the middle of the night, and I'm not worried in the least about wild-eyed Islamofascists kidnapping and torturing me.

But I AM worried about condi rice, donald rumsfeld, and karl rove bush's second in command, and obstructionists, and anti-constitutionalists, or dept. of homeland security Nazis kicking in my door in the middle of the night for saying so on the phone, and I am profoundly worried about wild-eyed American Neo-Fascists kidnapping and torturing me.

Fuck terrorism, I ain't afraid o' no terrorism.

1. i'm more woried about lightning than terrorism
even starting the clock on 9/11/01, about 3,000 people have died in nearly 4 and a half years.

that's not a very scary death rate.

2. Give terrorism a chance!
The Numero Uno, Premier, Top Dog terrorist in this world today (at least among those whom I know of) is Our Leader. If he and certain leaders in Israel keep terrorizing countries such as Iran, some other country (perhaps China, perhaps Russia... who knows) is going to get sick of it, and WWIII may develop. Then, if oil supplies are cut off and goods can't get to market here in the states, how we gonna buy food?

That's what I worry about. Okay, I'll admit it, I only worry occasionally about whether * will fuck things up so much that there won't be any food on the grocery store shelves... most of the time I worry about how I'm gonna pay my heating bill, or how I'm gonna pay my insurance premiums, and how I'm gonna pay medical bills, since my deductible is $9000.00 because if it were any lower, the premiums would be so high I couldn't afford them, and this is with a family in which no one has any serious illnesses (but who ever knows when someone will become ill?)

3. Amen, brother!
(not that I'm religious, but it sounded good ;) ) Thanks for articulating so vividly what I've been saying lately, too. I'm SICK of hearing about "terra! terra! terra!" ooga booga boo! Enough already. Like you, I'm MUCH more afraid of our very own, homegrown, fanatical extremists.

4. I am worried about the post office!!!! It is the only thing still working
Three more years with this group in DC and I am sure that will be gone. Why would any one think that any corp. works well after watching this group of boobs running a govt. that has run pretty well for 200 years take it down in 5? I watched date line last night on these private armies in Iraq and I swear Saddam ran that country better. What are we doing to this country and the world? I think the world will just by pass us, guys, and leave us in the dust. We need some good leaders. But where.

6. Well lets hope that mess does not seek the rest of us out
I for got about NO and how well Bush took care of that. I get a pension from the Govt. and I think if they find out I am a progressive it may just go. So far it comes in every month but with the DOD and how it works one has to worry about such things. They may sell it off to Halliburton next week.

7. My definition of Homeland Security
goes along with what you have said.

If my civil liberties are respected, I feel secure.
If my healthcare insurance is good, I feel secure.
If I keep my job, I feel secure.
If I can keep my home warm and my car filled with gas, I feel secure.
If my neighbors are employed, my neighborhood stays safe, and I feel secure.

Like you, terrorism is the last thing I fear. Why isn't that the Democratic Platform?
