8. This is not a blonde joke (just in case)
I am referring to The Fool (whose name I cannot type) selling his beloved hog farm.

I heard this today from a pretty calm source.

27. This is not a Tom joke
But when I saw the words "Georgie" and "Dallas" in the same sentence, I sort of...well, had a different image in mind, I guess. }(

you have an interesting point. Maybe they might need another safe haven in the Cayman Islands.

28. yes, texas has a big fat property tax and those records are public
Most appraisal districts in Texas are on the internets.

If you go to McLennanan County and type "Bush" into the search function it won't work. You have to know the secret trust name. Clue, Texas is the _______ Star State.

For the year 2006, the 1577.22 acres of dryland cropland, improved and native pasture has a Land/Market value of $1,815,404. That works out to $1151.02 per acre. In my neighborhood of a more rural Texas, that would be cheap cheap. Some comps from McLennan County would be nice.

Strangely the "ranch" has an ag valuation of $108,116. That would be the number that the taxes on the land are based on. Native pasture is supposed to mean cows and hay balers. Where's the beef?

The improvements (house) are valued at $810,922 and the 3 acre yard is $3446 for a total of $814,368. All the support stuff looks like a freebe.

Market Value: Land, $1,815,404 plus house and yard, $814,368 = $2,629,772.

Taxable Value: Land, $108,116 plus house and yard, $814,368 = $922,484.

that the ranch was simply for show, and that they will move to Dallas after leaving the White House. remember, he only bought it right before the campaign, it was a prop.

Yeah, it was a prop.
It was the only commercial hog farm in the county.

We have a farm nearby.

16. Why are they so skeered of Cindy?
I don't think it really matters where they go. I know Cindy and others are determined to make sure they can't run away unless it's the middle of the ocean, and I think there are probably some ship owning persons who might accommodate her.

Georgie you just can't run away.

29. Little Boots doesn't need to play cowboy any more
The ranch was purchased right before Little Boots ran for president.

It's entire purpose was to showcase him as a regular guy, down home, rancher type. The whole thing was a stage set from start to finish.

Republicans loved images of Reagan riding horses and chopping wood on his ranch. Of course since the current Leader of the Free World appears incapable of riding even the quietest horse (It is an absolute requirement that in order to ride a horse you must be more intelligent than the horse is--that is apparently a challenge for the Chimp) voters can thrill to Bush riding around in his pickup, "clearing brush" and feel a kinship with the President.

Reagan retired to his ranch because whatever you might think of his politics, his love for the outdoors and for his horses was genuine. Bush is a phony through and through. For the life of me I will never understand why the Democrats never called him on it. A few shots of Kerry on horseback (according to Imus he's actually a quite a decent rider) and a few well aimed barbs at the windshield cowboy might have exposed Bush for the fraud that he is.

Having screwed up the country as thoroughly as he screwed up the businesses he ran before he decided to get into the real family business of politics, Bush is prepared to hop in his pickup and drive off into the sunset--but he's not heading to the ranch--he's heading to a nice gated community where he can live with the oil barons whose fortunes he bolstered with your and my tax dollars.

Good riddance.
