Colorado Springs "Born Different" campaign has FOF in a tizzy
Edited on Sun Jul-23-06 05:12 AM by kevinbgoode
The "Meet Norman" commercials feature a puppy who moos. . .and that has sent the James Dobson crowd into a head explosion. Apparently these ads, which are running in Colorado Springs television and theaters, are quite popular with the community - except the Focus on the "Family" crowd, who naturally thinks the puppy deserves exclusion.

These commercials are short and rather clever - you can see some of them at:

What a wonderfully creative idea!!

They have a really clever cover page on their web site as well:

3. What a great rebuttal to the fundie ads
"Men don't marry men and dogs don't moo." (paraphrase)

Every little girl in America will wish she had a Norman. Haha. Take THAT cult of suffering!

5. Frankly, I think they should use a commercial
featuring James Dobson's methods of "training" a puppy...and a child. . .by corporal punishment.

6. Gosh
I hope old man Dobson busts a gut. His face gets all pinched and red when he's mad. It's hilarious!

10. Interesting that there's only a 50% chance for both twins to be gay.
I know a set of identical twins, one gay and one not. Which means gayness is only partly genetic -- there is still some other factor. My guess is that it's something to do with womb enviroment or perhaps a random variable.

Since it's fifty-fifty for the twin of a gay person to be gay, perhaps once the genetic requirements are set, there's some on/off switch that has to do with birth conditions or something.

Not that it really matters, but the science of gender and sexual orientation is still such a mystery for the most part.
