I can't wait until Bush gets Parkinson's
I can't wait until Bush gets Parkinson's
And there's no fucking cure, thanks to his ONLY veto

http://www.dubyad40.com/2006/07/i-cant-wait-until-bush-gets-parkinsons.shtml

President Bush cast the first veto of his 5 1/2-year presidency Wednesday, rejecting legislation to ease limits on federal funding for research on stem cells obtained from embryos.

"This bill would support the taking of innocent human life of the hope of finding medical benefits for others. It crosses a moral boundary that our society needs to respect, so I vetoed it," Bush said
http://www.boston.com/news/nation/washington/articles/2006/07/19/bush_vetoes_stem_cell_bill_as_promised/

Hey asshole, let's talk about innocent human lives, like the 10's of 1000's you've bombed into oblivion in Iraq.

Let's also talk about what happens to all of these blastocytes that you claim to be "protecting" with this veto. They are created in fertility clinics for people who can't "naturally" have children. God doesn't want them to have children, so they turn to Science, and Scientists artificially create a whole mess of fertilized eggs, pick a handful of them, and hope one of them takes. Remember George, when you and Laura had to do that to conceive those two little sluts of yours, because God didn't give you the hardware to do it His way? You know what the fertility clinics do with the leftovers? Of course you do George. You and Laura and your daughters have played a part in the carnage. The fertility clinics dispose of the extras as a Biohazard. They incinerate them. No, they don't "cremate" them after holding a big ceremony with flowers and prayers. They toss them in the chute with the used needles and bloody rags and shitty diapers and they burn them.

So George, if it is immoral to destroy these embryos to save people's lives, then is is damn well immoral to destroy them because they are garbage. If you don't want stem cell research, then logic dictates that you have to close every last mass-murdering fertility clinic in the country.

When the time comes when you're sick and dying, George, and your only hope comes from treatment developed using stem cells, I hope you have the integrity to refuse it, and die like God wants you to, you hypocritical prick.

(reposted in full, with permission)
http://dubyaD40.com

(note that I don't think we should close the fertility clinics - I'm just carrying his twisted logic to it's conclusion to demonstrate the hypocrisy)

39. Exactly...illegal abortions didn't stop the Bush Family in 1971
When George and Robin needed to terminate her pregnancy.

The same goes with diseases. Bush will be able to afford the best care available, and will have the connections to take advantage of those "treatments" he and his wacko fundies have outlawed. Just like in 1971...

6. Are you kidding? He would SECRETLY get stem cell help
if he had to. If that was his only hope, he'd be in some country where it's legal and has the $$$$ to do that. Average Joe can afford to fly to Europe or wherever and get treatment, but the wealthy can and do. They do the same thing when they need abortions too.

19. because they are still trying to develop treatments for Parkinson's
Don't you think a little help from the U.S. might speed things along just a bit in turning "promising research" into "practical treatment"? I guarantee, if it was available yet, he'd be doing it.

10 years from now, when dumbya is sick, you bet your ass he'll be driving right past the faith healers and heading directly to the most advanced medical labs to take advantage of any scientifically developed medical treatment available.
Oh, and as an ex-president, he'll be doing so on the taxpayers' bill.

44. Here's what I think will happen:
This research will be done, but not in the United States (unless somehow through private funding). Scientists in other countries, including brain-drained American scientists who have left the U.S. to work in countries that support science and are not ruled by the religiously insane (my bet is on France; they do some very advanced medical research) will eventually develop cures for diseases like Parkinson's and diabetes using stem cells. Eventually some foreign scientists will win a Nobel Prize for this work. (And some foreign drug company might end up owning a patent worth a king's ransom.)

Then, once this research leads to effective treatments for these common but devastating diseases, will the religious right then try to prevent making the treatments available in the U.S., like they did with the "morning after" pill? Only the wealthy will be able to afford to leave the country to get treated, because the fundies will try to make any medicine derived from stem cell research illegal, even if it comes from outside the U.S.

So I believe that if Bush gets something that can be cured by a stem cell-derived treatment, he'll sneak off to France and get it, just like all the other rich hypocrites who don't care what happens to the rest of us (happily sacrificing the health and the lives of thousands to advance a political agenda) as long as they can get what they need.

16. Or kidney failure or liver cancer.
Stem cell research could develop the technology where a person with those diseases could be implanted with cells that would grow new kidneys or a liver with their own DNA making transplants, which are very risky, a thing of the past.

Karma can be such a bitch.

I just have to believe that Alzheimers or Parkinsons or any of a number of serious medical conditions will affect Bush.

Or perhaps not Bush himself.

Perhaps his wife.

Or perhaps one of his precious little daughters.

Maybe then he will know what he has done.

He is a truly awful monster.

He will deserve every bit of the suffering (either his own or that of the ones he loves) that comes his way.

I hope he has nothing but nightmares of walking through hospital wards of sick people, dying people. People who could possibly be helped through the very research Bush squashed today. It would serve him right if he never got another decent night's sleep.

Of course, I don't know how he can possibly sleep anyway.

Oh, forgot: the booze. Drink yourself silly every night, then pass out in your own vomit. Not to worry, the White House staff will change the sheets. Again.

Bush is such a Nazi. He's doing more damage to the country than Osama bin Laden has done!
