I wonder who the Lebanese people, (not to mention the people of the Middle East), are going to see as seeking the end to the violence?

The president made the statement in a telephone conversation with Turkish Prime Minister Recep Tayyip Erdogan.
Meanwhile, a UN envoy who visited Israel and Lebanon this week and met with Spain's foreign minister Wednesday called for a quick decision on whether to deploy a new international force to stop the escalating Mideast fighting.
Annan and British Prime Minister Tony Blair said at the Group of Eight summit in Russia on Monday that deploying a new international force in southern Lebanon is the only way to stop the fighting.
But the US ambassador to the United Nations, John Bolton, said the UN Security Council should not start talking about sending a new force until it knows how the conflict is going to be resolved.
