A few theoretical questions, for those who blindly support Israel
If China declared that the Falun Gong, or some other anti-government group, was being supported by Taiwan, would it then be alright for China to invade Taiwan? Would such an action be an appropriate reaction to the threat against Chinese citizens? Would the US tacitly support the action by blocking UN resolutions condemning it?

1. Just a thought.
I think it is unlikely that anyone will admit to "blindly" supporting anything or anyone. If you are genuinely interested in a response, you might want to direct the question in some other way.

Of course, if the title of your thread is merely rhetorical, and you have no interest in a response, then feel free to leave it as-is.

11. Right.
The "blindly" part is silly. "Theoretical" is also an incorrect discription for the questions. Your "merely rhetorical" is a correct description.

12. Point taken.
I suppose I was more than a little annoyed at the time I wrote this--I'm frustrated by the number of people who don't seem to see the logical end-point of this sort of logic, being that it's what made the Iraq war possible.

2. Analogies seldom work in a debate.

If you want a debate, just ask questions about specific circumstances with the real parties involved. Sorry, who am I to give advice? Not much of what I ask is answered either.

3. Good question, wrong group
Only if the Falun Gong had launched attacks against Chinese cities and infrastructure, but seeing as to how that particular group is non-violent, this is a silly question.

Use a better example!

4. That analogy falls flat on its face from the get-go
China already considers Taiwan to be a rogue province. From China's perspective, it would be justified in invading Taiwan absent the Fallen Bong issue or whatever.

5. Since I have been declared a zionist...
I will answer.

If China declared that the Falun Gong, or some other anti-government group, was being supported by Taiwan, would it then be alright for China to invade Taiwan?

Is the Falun Gong or other anti-Government group blowing up innocent civilians every day? Can it be clearly proved that they are receiving support from Taiwan? Then yes.

For the record I think this is a shitty question because you are trying to compare a pacifist organization like Falun Gong to a terror group like Hezbollah.

Would such an action be an appropriate reaction to the threat against Chinese citizens?

Again, if it has gone on for years and the UN and the Taiwanese government failed to do anything about it, yes.

Would the US tacitly support the action by blocking UN resolutions condemning it?

No. The situation is different. It's to the US' advantage to have Israel attack Lebanon. China conquering Taiwan would be bad for our interests.

Again, I think it's bullshit that you are equating China with Israel. It's not just apples and oranges, it's like tacos and leprechauns.

6. "It's to the US' advantage to have Israel attack Lebanon"
WTF are you high on? This is the dumbest statement I've read since it was declared attacking Iraq was to the US's advantage.

Israel's aggression against Lebanon does nothing but further harm the US.

7. I meant the US administration... i.e. PNAC
Not the US as in the citizenry, since We the People are screwed out of the process.

8. I think the term "blindly support"
probably does not apply to anyone on this site.

That said, I do weigh my opinions about the ME against the knowledge that Jews have been despised for centuries, and that the level of hate towards them in the Arab world today is enormous. I believe if Israel disbanded and scattered tomorrow there are many who would not rest until they were all dead.

9. You don't think Arabs have any justification for hating Israel?
That it's just age old hatred of the Jews? If so, that's why you don't understand this situation at all.

10. I am sure the Arabs have reasons ... recent ones
for hating the Jews. But the hatred is worldwide (not just Arabs) and goes back way past the Palestine issue.

I don't know why the Jews are so maligned, but they are.

I understand the situation as well as anyone else does. It's the same old story. You hit me, I hit you. We keep hitting each other until we have nothing left. But while we are doing it, we try and rationalize why we are doing it.

13. Is Falun Gong rocketing Chinese cites and swearing to wipe it off
the map in your scenario?
