History's verdict is already IN: Shrub is an unworthy putz
Edited on Wed Jul-19-06 11:14 AM by UTUSN
My pet wingnut, the local radio talkshow host, is one of the 29-percenters. Despite the barrage of articles and posts gleaned from DU that I send him, nothing can sway him. He held on to the Saddam's-envoy-in-Prague-with-Atta for MONTHS after it had been debunked many times.

I don't think he had heard of PNACers and NeoCons until I sent him stuff from here. He was adrift and accepting all the Shrubbites' shifting rationalizations for the Iraq Attack in turn, finally settling on something that made sense to him: That what it was about was "to kick some Arab butt" AND that he (the wingnut) is faith-based that WILSON idealism of spreading democracy was a non-ironic component, AND that anybody who doubted this was being racially demeaning to Arabs about their capacity to foster democracy, which Gawd knows is clearly THE superior form of government ALL peoples and cultures should grok.

In the past months when the mess of the Iraq Attack was becoming undeniable, he started in with his crapshoot theory: That if Iraq turns out (by luck) to be "a success," Shrub will be accounted as a "great" pResident, but will go on the ash heap otherwise.

I say: Guess what, we don't have to wait for history to be written. As a cable yakker said about CHEENEE, "In this secretive (mal-)administration, all we know are two things: That (CHEENEE) held secret Energy meetings and that the Energy situation sucks----so why CAN'T we blame CHEENEE?"

It's already clear that Shrub is inadequate, incompetent, inappropriate. The Carlyle Group fired him for being a useless flake even in a nominal position. The German chancellor gave him the FUCK-OFF for his groping her. What will it take for the vast NON VOTING masses to participate in the community? It hardly seems worth it that most of us here knew what he was like from the very prospect of his aspiring to the power.

Sigh, he was born on 3rd base, able to go to the best schools, but he had no interest in getting his education (geography, culture) until it could be provided at the country's hazard: Getting lessons in geography by where bombs fall; in culture, from scenes like this:

Cowboy george
Bush's unexpected squeeze of the German chancellor has the Internet howling

.... The scene, captured by a Russian TV camera, hit the Internet like a summer wildfire Tuesday, and it may be most memorable for the German chancellor's reaction. Bush applies his hands to Merkel's shoulders and neck while she's speaking with Italian Prime Minister Romano Prodi; the chancellor hunches her shoulders, then throws her hands up to stop the unexpected massage with a wan smile -- and an expression which can best be translated as "Ewwww." ....

And Dialog International, a Web site that specializes in German-American politics and culture, said Bush's behavior raised questions about the American president and his profile abroad.

"When he is away from his script and his handlers, his true lack of intelligence and emotional maturity surfaces for all to see. The dangerous situation in Lebanon ... requires true leadership. Don't look for it from the world's uberpower." ....

----------Item 2, How Shrub got bounced from Carlyle---------

http://www.informationclearinghouse.info/article3994.htm

.... Rubenstein said, "We put (Bush) on the board and (he) spent three years. Came to all the meetings. Told a lot of jokes. Not that many clean ones. And after a while I kind of said to him, after about three years - you know, I'm not sure this is really for you. Maybe you should do something else. Because I don't think you're adding that much value to the board. You don't know that much about the company.

Rubenstein continued: "He said, well I think I'm getting out of this business anyway. And I don't really like it that much. So I'm probably going to resign from the board. And I said, thanks - didn't think I'd ever see him again. His name is George W. Bush. He became President of the United States. So you know if you said to me, name 25 million people who would maybe be President of the United States, he wouldn't have been in that category. So you never know. Anyway, I haven't been invited to the White House for any things." ....

1. O.K., I'm not letting this deep thread disappear with ZERO ripostes
Here's the problem. If I post erratically,somebody - and I won't say WHO - will

1) DEMAND a link,

2) CHALLEGE rudely,

3) ARGUE horribly,

or whatever.

If I post something about Brad andAngelina, I'll get sixty million responses. If I spend 20 to 45 minutes posting a thoughtful ------------oh, nevermind.
