Bush Military History Project #29
This is being written as a journal in democraticunderground.com and crossposted on Dailykos and Myleftwing.
I urge readers of this series to obtain a copy of Unfit Commander by Glenn Smith, the only source of Bush's military papers in chronological order. Where internet references are not easily available I will give page numbers of this book for reference.
I also urge readers to become familiar with the report by Lt Col Gerald Lechliter, published in the NY Times, available at: http://www.nytimes.com /....
Or Google: NY Times Gerald Lechliter. I will be referring to both of these sources in this study.
Many, many Thanks and an Airborne salute to Marty Heldt and Paul Lukasiak and his AWOL Project: http://www.glcq.com /

Journal entry #29

Its encouraging to see that in the last poll 100% of 16 respondents agreed with the basic premise of this BMHP study : “Do you think the TXANG and the federal government didn't investigate the CBS papers because of the damage it would do to Bush and the TXANG?” While some have said I’m preaching to the choir, still, it’s a difficult choir to convince. If you agree with that, then its an easy step to say that Bush and the Republicans CAN’T have an investigation because of what it would reveal—and the’ yre still vulnerable here.

America, that agreement alone is enough to start loading the flintlocks for the revolution. Because it says that the government of this country is shirking its duty to protect the American people from fraud surrounding federal documents. The federal government won’t investigate/prosecute the most notorious, highest profile case of “forged” federal documents in history—instead they let this critically important national issue be “settled” by conservative bloggers and CBS. Did I say “let?” I mean manipulated the whole thing. And the media, which we hope in vain is looking out for the interests of the American Public, just nodded their heads and wrote it down, as usual.

But even if the media is almost completely clueless, Constant Readers of this series are not. Not only do we know they’re hiding something, we know what they’re hiding: crimes in Bush’s posted papers that the CBS papers illuminate. That’s why there was no official investigation of allegedy forged TXANG documents. And there won’t be one until the federal government (G Bush commanding) is forced to do their duty.

The easiest and quickest solution to this problem is to take it to the courts because we can no longer trust the executive or congressional branches of this government to respect or enforce the law. ( I don’t have much trust in the courts either but its all we got) This takes it out of the hands of the Bush administration, the Republican Congress, the media and the bloggers and puts it where it always should be: a due legal process.

Is it possible for any American to sue the government over this? Or an agency like the ACLU or Texans for Truth? The BMHP would like to know because we are contemplating it because no one else will. The government has clearly failed in their duty to prove or disprove these TXANG documents that are alleged to be forged and will only do so if forced.

What’s most amazing is that neither Mapes nor Rather has apparently ever even contemplated this idea; yet the governments refusal to provide them with due process—official verification of official documents—has damaged them terribly, trashed their careers, reputations, family security. Why don’t Mapes and Rather see that verification of these purported TXANG documents can ONLY be done by the federal government? Why did they go along with the CBS Dog and Pony Show, and then seemingly slink off in disgrace to try and mend their lives on their own? If theyre not “guilty” (of what?) they sure act that way. Wake up Dan and Mary, all is not lost—if you would only fight back.

Did they get a big severance package that was dependent on their not suing CBS? That would explain why they didn’t sue CBS for dismissal without cause but doesn’t explain why they’d stop short of suing the federal government. This case will only be solved when the federal government is sued to force them to do their duty to prove or disprove the CBS Papers. Then Bush and his chain of command can be forced to take the witness chair. And here’s the beauty of this plan---why wouldn’t they? What possible argument could they have against resolving this officially other than “it was all settled by CBS?” What the media hid from America is that this is what Bush and the Re publicans should have done from the start—but ran away from.

Why the media doesn’t see this is obvious but why don’t all the investigative authors like Boehlert and James Moore see it either? Polls on this series show me that most of you agree with me on this—its obvious.

Boehlert misses a lot in his book ( so does Moore) including one of the most obvious surmises. We all know that the Conservatives have had a decades long “K Street Project” to highjack the lobbying business. Basically they say: ”You either play ball with us or nobody.” They put their people in critical jobs, directing critical issues, the lobbying industry now kowtows to Republicans only. I think its obvious that they’ve had a similar Project in the media, one that’s a lot more hidden. The truth about the K Street Project wasn’t publicized by the lobbyists and the similar “Media Project” isn’t publicized by the media either. But you can tell its there: In the Plame scandal we saw real well how in bed with the Bush administration many influential journalists are: Russert, Woodward, Novak, Miller, Cooper, etc.. The NYTimes Keller killed the NSA story before the election—which SURELY gave the election to Bush. Better start talking about this, America, its had a big effect on this story and others, like the Plame Outing. They could only have pulled off what they did here ( and in other places) with BIG help from the media.

And I believe I’m the first one to cover fully the White House’s suspicious response to these papers and point out all the their spin moves around it.. Others mention it, but don’t seem to put it together with an organized plan. As pointed out many times here before, the White House response to the papers was most peculiar, seeing as how they HAVE to know if the papers are real or not---but perhaps the WH has the media so buffaloed now they think its all normal. The Bush administration snowed the media so bad they made them think that Bush doesn’t know what his real suspension order looked like or if he was ordered to take his physical or not. Ridiculous, just ridiculous!!

When studying History, its often easiest to see what the plan was by seeing what was actually done and then trying to put yourself into the planners mind. Not everything works out in any plan but you can see the central theme..

Instead of denying the papers are real and instigating an official investigation—which is what SHOULD have happened—the Republicans “elevated Bush above the fray” where he wouldn‘t have to face embarrassing questions. Sicced the bloggers and Right Wing Noise Machine on CBS. Pretended they didn’t know whether the papers were real or not, while their bloggers were trashing them. Pretended they had no way of verifying the documents (they control EVERY federal investigative agency) Pretended that the papers had no connection to Bush’s career even though they’re about known events in Bush’s life that he has certain knowledge of.

What do you do when you have to get documents declared false but can’t talk about the content or compare it to the record or youre screwed? Talk about the fonts! The formatting!! The spacing!! Genius, Karl, pure freaking genius, I wouldn’t have thought of that in a million years. Move the conversation onto the fonts/spacing/formatting and keep it there. What he got the Left to do here was outsmart itself and I’m sure he still has a big laugh about it.

This was SUCH a slick move because it got all the opposition fighting among themselves. This was what shut the story down—that no one could prove or disprove the fonts. And what they completely smoked and mirroed was that the federal government could in short order and had the duty to do so, especially the TXANG. This of course went hand in hand with planting the notion that these were somehow “private papers of Col Killian” and that therefore the federal government had no jurisdiction. (Yeah, well how federal was Terry Schiaavo?)

This story has been declared dead in the media so you’ll only read the truth about it here—and in the next installment of the Bush Military History Project.

If you think this topic is important the author would appreciate a recommend. Thanks
