Wow, I think Pat Buchanan is writing the Israeli talking points...
on here lately.

Although in the very small minority, I support Israel and denounce the terrorist organization Hezbollah. I grieve just as strongly for all innocent civilians harmed in this conflict. The Lebanese government, one of Bush's proudest achievements, is impotent to stop these thugs, so Israel will do it, and civilians on both sides are the victims.

8. They are bombing the Lebanese Army, which is NOT HEZBOLLAH,
as well as civilian ports and areas of the country that are NOT ALIGNED WITH HEZBOLLAH.

This is in addition to THE CIVILIAN INFRASTRUCTURE.

They have killed less than ten members of Hezbollah, according to most counts.

9. they are bombing elements that support Hezbollah...
they are targeting terrorist elements, regardless of your effort to characterize it otherwise. Tragically, civilian casualties have resulted, however, unlike Hezbollah, they do not deliberately target civilians.

Where do you get your counts? hezbollah.com?

Where do you get your talking points? PNAC?

Israeli warplanes continued to batter targets in Lebanon today, killing 30 people, including 11 members of the Lebanese Army when bombs hit their barracks east of Beirut. Four of the dead were officers, and 30 more soldiers were wounded.

In southern Lebanon, nine members of a single family were killed and four wounded in an Israeli airstrike on their house in the village of Aitaroun, near the Israeli border.

12. If Israel is targeting, they are supporting Hezbollah...
i know it shatters your anti-Israel rhetoric to acknowledge that. please continue to support whomever you choose, regardless of their deliberate targetting of civilians.

17. I get confused about it too....
but you should check out some of the archived documents at the DLC website and its associated thinktank (if they are still available). Economic policy aside, the militarization plans sound very similar to PNAC.

23. Invasion of their country? Don't You mean
Edited on Tue Jul-18-06 10:34 PM by insane_cratic_gal
Palestine land taken over by Brits and handed back to displaced Jews from Hitler? Lets not forget where some of the conflict lies. When did the Lebanese invade Israel?

Or do you mean invaded by 10 guys who kidnapped 2 guys and killed 8 soldiers? In return Israel's over reaction has killed over 200 civilians all for the "invasion"

You entitled to defend Israel's reaction, but I find it heavy handed and over done, but I guess they learn from the best bullies.

I'm not supporting Hezbollah, but I understand what feels like to have your country Hijacked by a party you don't agree with.
