Disgusting RNC attack on Senator Ted Kennedy

"While we are glad Ted Kennedy has decided to get on the equality bandwagon, it's laughable given that his revelation comes less than a week after his hypocritical attacks on Judge Alito," Republican National Committee spokeswoman Tracey Schmitt said Tuesday.

Kennedy has been on the "equality bandwagon" long before many of those fucks were even born :grr: :grr: :grr:

1. Yeah, his brother was even shot and killed for it
Oh, my bad. Two of his brothers.

That man has been on the equality bandwagon and has been preaching equality before it was even in the damn dictionary. :grr:

2. GOP attack people who are a threat to them
Ted Kennedy is a very experienced politician. GOP are pretty lame.

4. It's ludicrous to say that Kennedy was hypocritically attacking
Alito. What a joke! Remember, it's an honor to be savaged by the RNC. It means that they fear that you are making an impact on the political thinking in the Country.

5. There weren't any "hypocritical attacks" on his part.

He was doing his job as a committee member. No more, no less.

RNC .... if you want cheerleaders tune in to Faux News.

8. At least Kennedy admits and remembers this
good ole boys club. Alito can't even remember his participation or not, we never did find out whether he just lied to pad his resume or not, did we?

11. Pure bait and switch, sleight of hand. Kennedy was a member of a social
club at Harvard, in 1954 - for crying out loud - that was all male, as was the university. The 1950's.

Alito was a member of CAP, a reactionary, political organization that opposed women and minority attendance at Princeton. In the 1970's. CAP opposed - or more accurately, worked to limit - female admissions that had already started at that time. The 1970's.

from the article:

Kennedy's spokeswoman said the Owl Club was primarily a social club, while the Princeton group actively supported excluding women and minorities from the school.

"There is absolutely nothing in common between this social club and an organization like CAP that was established to push a political agenda to prohibit women and minorities from attending Princeton," Wagoner said. "No one can question Sen. Kennedy's lifelong commitment to fighting for civil rights, equality and justice."

14. His name was Michael. Michael Douglas. And he was only 17.
Then Laura killed him with her car. His father was traveling in the car behind Michael, saw him ejected from his vehicle, and then helplessly watched him die on the side of the road. His only child. Laura never even received a ticket.

What was that Schmitt had to say, again?

21. Discussing a club is the wingnuts' way to drive the debate
They want to drive the discussion and they want to end it with the word 'Chappaquiddick." I don't give a good g*dd*mn about Kennedy's college club when he's not the subject of the nomination and I refuse to let the wingnuts steer the debate around in contortions only to end up back at an emotionally-charged issue like Chappaquiddick. We've got a so-called first lady over in Africa preaching abstinence, for pity's sake. If they want to talk about driving a debate with the intention of driving it in a particular direction, let's bring HER driving into it, too. No one ever brings that up. And they should. I'm tired of wingnuts setting the public off with code words. Someone needs to stand their ground and refuse to let them drive anything, anywhere.

That's all I have to say about that. ;)

23. LOL!
Sorry, too many related, wingnutty discussions both on-line and in-person since the hearings started. The keyboard cringes whenever I type certain words. I can't imagine why.

18. There's a large difference between 1954 when Kennedy was in the Owl Club,
and the 1970s, when Alito was in CAP.
