1. Good point - if they were dissatisfied they would want equal time.
As a side note NPR is getting increasingly difficult to take - it has all the content of "People Magazine". I guess once they got Ray Kroc's 100 million they were definitely in the NeoCONs' sights for a takeover - and takeover they have.

2. Excellent and pertinent observation
Reagan got rid of it, and those Republicans have been ENDURING the liberal media ever since!

Wow! Why would they do such a thing to themselves? Why not demand equal time? :sarcasm:

4. Every time Republicans spew their lies about "liberal" media
Whoever is interviewing or opposing them, should dump the Fairness Doctrine in their lap and count on the Republican's support for implementing the Fairness Doctrine for all the viewers to see.

Did you get that, MSM trolls and Democratic politicians?

5. That is the perfect rebuttal for the "liberal media" claim.
"...then why don't the Republicans demand a Fairness Doctrine for the media?"

7. That is so true. That must be one of the reasons the spin is always
about looking forward and not dwelling in the past. When you look in the rear view mirror, you can bypass the dazzling array of lies and gather evidence from behavior.

Slam dunk.:toast: Good one!

10. maybe that should be the rallying cry -- and the talking point re: liberal
media. Liberals WANT to bring back the fairness doctrine. Republican conservatives DON'T! Why not? (We ask guilelessly). Could it be due to Republican ownership of the media? Could it be because they don't want EQUAL time -- they want ALL the time?

14. This fight could expose GOP control of media if Dems take it on fullsteam.

15. they won't -- WE must find a way to do it ourselves.
if it's one person at a time, or two or three. WE HAVE to do the job. Well...if Howard Dean could get on it and start pounding away at it. IF Al Gore would...

Okay...so I concede that if they would do it, it would do a lot for exposing the truth. But how to get them to take it on? Letters, anybody?

11. That's riiight, good point
Rush Limpballs is the biggest enemy of the Fairness Doctrine because he didn't like that Liberals got to respond to his little tirades.

Now that he's trumpeting the "Librul Media" as the cause of all the problems, why isn't he advocating for a return of the Fairness Doctrine?
