Christian (alleged) minister: "Blow Islam to Kingdom Come"
Edited on Sun Jul-16-06 06:19 PM by MnFats
snippet

"The only thing that works with Islam is blowing them to kingdom come."

http://www.wdcmedia.com/newsArticle.php?ID=1434

Jan Markell, founder and director of Olive Tree Ministries, believes the ongoing military operations in Lebanon and Gaza have become necessary because of the Israeli government's past appeasement policy. She says Israel "actually traded one or two soldiers for as many as a couple thousand Palestinian terrorist prison inmates."

That policy was a mistake, Markell asserts. "You start appeasing even once, and these thugs get the idea that they're going to get away with it again and again and again," she insists, which is why she feels Israel cannot afford to agree to any more prisoner exchanges with Islamic terrorists.

Israel must pursue one policy in dealing with Hezbollah and Hamas, the Olive Tree Ministries founder contends. "The only thing that works with Islam is blowing them to kingdom come. It's time to go in with force," she says.

2. Quotes from the site
(AgapePress) - The head of a Minnesota-based pro-Israel ministry says she is pleased that Israel self-defense forces are on the move in Lebanon to attack terrorists responsible for kidnapping two Israeli soldiers, an action that followed the kidnapping of another soldier in Gaza.

There's more at the site, but these two are the pertinant paragraphs, I believe.

12. They have ties to MN-6 GOP Candidate Michelle Bachmann
So this is the kind of crap Congress will get if MN-6 elects Michelle Bachmann (R) over Patty Wetterling (DFL).

Correct me if I'm wrong, but wouldn't that also be called "Heaven"?

6. Gee, my pastor must be out of step with all the really cool Christians
He, on the other hand, every week prays for peace during the service, this week including praying for Lebanon and Israel and Iraq.

Damn liberal Christians! Who do they think they are?

9. Fundy mentality
is that they think there are different Gods-there is only One Being, and no seperation at all.

19. There's a lot of that going around.
I've always wondered why when there's an Islamist strike against a Christian or Jewish group--not just "polytheist" groups--they still say "Allahu akbar", "Allah is greatest."

After all, surely they know that their religion says that the god they call 'Allah' is common to both Judaism and Christian. And yet they say it ...

Boynton says it, and it's big news. Musharraf *doesn't* say it, and it's big news.

8. I wonder what she would say to these words
From the prophet Jesus: "Blessed are the peacemakers"....and "Love thine enemies"...."turn the other cheek"....

or from the Hadiths (sayings of the prophet Mohammed):

Be kind to people whether they deserve your kindness
or not. If your kindness reaches the deserving, good
for you; if your kindness reaches the undeserving,
take joy in your compassion.

God has mercy upon those who are merciful to others.

Deal gently with the people, and be not harsh; cheer
them and condemn them not.

(more at: http://darvish.wordpress.com/)

As a Sufi Pir recently said, the Prophets, from whatever tradition, bring through the Light and Truth of the One and Only Being because the Prophets have removed all traces of nafs (ego). Those that follow the Prophet are often not in that same state, and so they distort the Message. Sadly, that is what has happened here, I think (on the side of Muslim terrorists and also this Christian minister).

13. A wonderful post, and absolutely correct! The message of the great
religions is always the same, because God is the same! The inexpressible has to be expressed in myths and symbols, and it is taken for truth by radical fundamentalists of all religions, which totally subverts its original intent.

BTW, I started reading Hazrat I. Kahn's The Unity of Religious Ideals just last night! You had suggested it in a thread of mine a few weeks ago, and I'd already read some of his works. This Volume especially is so pertinent for today.

I'm so glad you found it to read it. I think that it still contains "a message for our time" even though it was written some 80 or so years ago.

American religo-fascist crazy says - wipe Islam off the map.
All we need now is an Israeli religo-fascist crazy saying we need to wipe Lebanon off the map.
That's what Mohammad, Jesus, David would have done; wipe those dirty people off the map and take their land!!! Amen! Time for me to finally :puke: and start drinking, again.

all thru 2000 and 2004 to be the willing foot soldiers and unquestioning crusaders for the bloody neocon mideast agenda. It was a brilliant calculation, belied only however briefly by the Harriet Miers miscalculation, now long since forgiven and forgotten.

They've served their useful purposes to fear-mongering fascist causes and crusades in history before. Expect their joyously apocalyptic hate orgies to grow only louder and more extreme in the near future. Bush's laconic base has been freshly rallied.

16. I had posted this 2 days ago about Hagee, in one of Pitts posts
and had no response, but if anyone knows anything about this 'Christian' Warmonger, I'd like to hear it!

http://www.democraticunderground.com/discuss/duboard.php?az=show_topic&forum=364&topic_id=1626398

I happened (quite by chance, the day before yesterday) to listen to a Christian Network, John Hagee ministries, and the short time I listened to it, prior to realizing my mistake, I was told that Israel had fulfilled it's New Testament Covenant, and the beginning of this fulfillment took place in 1948 "when God brought Jewish people back to Israel, fulfilling Biblical prophesy, as found in the 39th chapter of Ezekial" (ex.: I just looked this up and found this quote: Ezekiel 39: 22-23: "So the House of Israel shall know that I am the Lord their God from that day and forward. And the heathen shall know that the House of Israel went into captivity for their iniquity: because they trespassed against me, and therefore I hid my face from them, and gave them into the hands of their enemies: so fell they all by the sword."

These literal interpreters of the Bible or the Koran stake their entire lives on the absolute truth of 'symbols'; ie, words! A misinterpretation becomes their 'absolute truth' and they will die for it or send others to die for it. Couple this U.S. 'Christian' viewpoint of 'truth' with neocon/PNAC/corporate/global greed, and you have the makings for world casualties; perhaps WWIII. I think it is extremely interesting to note that the so called 'founding father' of the neocon movement, Leo Strauss, and one of his followers, A. Bloom, were both atheists. Both were Jewish, and Strauss was a German-Jewish emigree who had been extremely influenced by Heidegger, who had (initially anyway) supported the Nazi's! This makes for a most bizzaro world of influence. (Another aside: Bloom, who much like the hypocritical gambling Bennett, wrote about cultural decline and 'virtues' was a closet homosexual!)

One more note on what I accidentally viewed on this Hagee Ministries(anyone know about him?...haven't had time to google, but took notes the other day). To quote my notes: "There were 6 million Jews wiped out in the Holocaust, and that is the number currently living in Israel. Iran makes Iraq look like nothing." He also started blathering about enriched (?) plutonium, which could overnight turn the U.S. into the 18th Century, without electricity and power, but with no loss of life. And apparently, it is relatively cheap, and Iran has the capabilities of utilizing this. Here is a 'Christian' Fundamentalist pro-Israel creep, who seems to be teaching anything but Christianity. This fundamentalism coupled with neocon lust for world power is a marriage utterly doomed for failure, IMHO, as many of their goals seem to be polar opposites. The world has gone insane, or maybe it's always been so, and I'm just now realizing it!

18. I think I met up with one of these the other day
when I had to have dental work done. The tech cleaning my teeth had a pin on with the Israeli and American flags crossed. I said some words in Hebrew (the Shema) and the lady gave me a blank stare. She didn't know anything about Israel except what her preacher told her. She even thought it was a great place to go on vacation now! She wasn't interested in learning any Hebrew, nor in what the Shema says (Hear oh Israel, the Lord Thy God is One). Very sad.

28. Thanks for confirming my suspicions. It probably is good to view
this evil crapola again, as he sounded so convincing and well informed; I'm certain he has a large following of the 'deluded.' He is filled with so much error, that he likely represents the anti-Christ that he so fears! I think you're right about him/them wanting this war, because in their narrow and incorrect interpretation of the apocalypse, God's Plan for Israel is to be carried out! Of course these same lunatics were the very sort who killed Jesus Christ, and supported Hitler; the only reason they support Israel now is because of their misinterpretation of the Good Book!

30. Interesting
If Muslim extremists proclaim "Death to Americans" there's rabid outcry from the right wingers/fundies, and Muslims in general are condemned. However fundies and even many neocons/freepers think nothing of advocating genocide in the Middle East.

Hypocrites.
