Is it going to take WWIII before the masses start to wise up?
With the shit hitting the fan in Isreal, the war in Iraq having no end in sight, no conclusion in the Plame leak scandal (yet), and the Republicans planning on using the voting machines to steal yet another election, what's it going to take? Is it going to be WWIII? The Rapture? How far will things get?

1. It will take the *failure* of the Rapture
--and the realization that the Amen corner is going to have to go through the same shit as the rest of us do -- to wake up at least some of the people. If any are "wake-uppable..."

7. i think people are beginning to wake up--don't give up yet.
Let's 1/2 full this before the glass is empty... Stay positive. Stay focused. Avoid throwing fits and accusations. Be wise this election. Encourage real debates. And encourage voter participation.

2. The only thing that would do it would be gas rationing.

6. As long as they could keep blaming it all on Clenis and swarthy foreigners
the Repo-Fascists will remain safe behind their clouds of opium smoke and incense.

3. I doubt WW3 would do it
They'll believe the Republican spin no matter what.

They're like the germans after World War 2 who just couldn't believe all the bad stories about what their country did. It took a long time to set in, and for some never did. For others it had to stare them in the face before they woke up.

I'm not sure what could wake up this country honestly. Not in the same way at least. Our torture prisons are either highly militarized (gitmo), inaccessible (iraq), or secret. None of them, that we know of, are on our own land.

I don't know...There is no shocking piece of evidence that these people will ever see first hand, and if they can't see it with their own two eyes, then the truth will be spun and they'll go along till the end of the world I think.

9. My vote on what would start to wake people up?
Complete destruction of all TV networks, food and gas rationing. That might be a start.

19. Yup.
It's funny, if terrorist groups really want to talk about changing our way of life, they ought to start with the opiate that is TV.

4. The world has a corrupt leader, the darkness is spreading
With a leader who could take the lead for peace, it could happen, but when you have an ignorant clown basically telling everyone to fight it out, the chances for peace are slim. Maybe now will be the time someone else in the world takes over, and brings peace, and kicks America to the side of the road. We'll just have to wait and see, and work very hard for November, and hope it comes soon enough. Even before November, if the Repubs see that the mood of the nation has changed, they may put pressure on W. It's the most we can do, probably.

10. WW III and then WWIV because what Albert Einstein said was
"I don't know how the third world war will be fought, but I do know that the fourth one will be fought with sticks and stones."

Einstein also said, "Only two things are infinite - the universe and human stupidity."
