Answer: Approximately One Trillion Dollars ($1,000,000,000,000.00)

Question: What is the shortfall in the budget between where the economy is today and where the White House forecasted it would be at this time?

The White House predicted, prior to 9/11, that we would see at least a $600 billion budget surplus. Today they are predicting a $300 billion deficit.

Is this what the terrorists meant when they said they wanted to cripple our economy?

1. Right you are! Time to cut taxes for the rich again, then!
That'll get us out of the hole.
By the way - don't forget to count those 'off-budget' items like that there war. I think there's about $150 b off budget.

3. Bin Laden is brilliant in his strategy
Help turn Bush into a "war Prezident", put out a video just before the 2004 election, all in an effort to cripple our economy with the Shrub's idiotic policies, both foreign and domestic.Genius !

4. Another "big question;" Will the media call him on this?
Will some "professional journalist" ask him after his rosy economy speech if this $900,000,000,000 discrepancy points to a more truthful assessment of his economic policies?

I doubt it...

6. He'll just blame it on 9/11.
Unfortunately, the media and his followers will buy it.
