Condoleezza Rice RULES OUT Presidential bid

Not even a vote of confidence from Laura Bush can change US Secretary of State Condoleezza Rice's mind about running for president in 2008.

Before leaving for an African trip with Rice, the first lady predicted the United States soon would have a female president - a Republican, and maybe even Rice.

"I think it will happen for sure," she said about a woman in the Oval Office....

"Obviously, it's flattering when people say things like that. The first lady is not only a terrific person, she's my friend. And I was honoured that she said that, of course. She's a wonderful person," Rice said. "But I've spoken to this. I know what I'm good at, I know what I want to do and that's not it."

How about vice-president? "The two are the same," she said with a grin and a shake of her head.

2. Has anyone seen
the book "Condi vs Hillary" Election 2008? or something like that? Either she is being sincere or as usual, she's repeating lines given to her in advance.

11. Tough to be President when you're serving time after being convicted ...
... of war crimes and crimes against humanity and your Nation.

Just saying ...

Peace.

12. I find the whole conversation
no -- the hint, speculation, whatever --

completely fucking insulting.

Why are people even speculating that this worthless liar could even be a contender?

13. I believe her
She's looking to make more money in the future on corporate boards (go to a couple of meetings a year in exotic places, fire a few thousand workers, and earn a nice kickback); go back to Stanford (where she can pull down a couple hundred thou to do nothing, while some adjunct instructor has to actually teach classes); take a seat on the Carlyle Group board (where she can profit from the war on terrorism); and write her memoirs (which all the conservative book clubs will bulk buy to then claim its a "bestseller").

I think she's telling the truth here. She's not a dumb person, and I don't think she wants to clean up George w. Bush's mess when she could make more money elsewhere.

17. McCain would easily beat Hillary
Hillary will only win in '08 if she's running against a redneck like Brownback or George Allen.

I'm sure all the conservative think-tanks and lobbyists realize this and will throw all their money at McCain.

20. A corollary to that....
what Republican will want to be the guy/gal picking up the dogshit?

Democrats will run, motivated to fix this country. What will be the Republican candidate's motivation? Ruining his/her good name keeping the prior administration's criminal actions covered up? Maintaining policies that will bankrupt and destroy the country? Or do the right things and become villified by the base? Seems to me, only the Republican corrupted criminals will be motivated to run...if only to maintain the cover-up.

16. No single woman will EVER be nominated by Republicans
especially not someone who has gone on record supporting the right to choose.

I think Condi has recognized the limitations of being a Republican.
