I was just reading a new article in the
Union Leader (a RW rag) and I realized his case is ridiculously WEAK.
Check this out:
“We don’t know what our defense will be at trial,” Levin said, “but generally speaking, Mr. Hansen’s story has been the same from the outset. He was asked to do this thing by these political operatives, and these people who are involved in politics told him it was legal. Someone got on the telephone who said he was an attorney and said that this is all legal, so don’t worry about it.”
This implies Hansen KNEW it was ILLEGAL and was worried about the whole operation. A reasonable person would not have cared WHO was on the other end of the phone telling them to break the law; a reasonable person would not do it. If he didn't believe it was illegal, why would the WH have to get someone on the phone for him. I can't believe his lawyer is EVEN COMMENTING on this, let alone with this type of garbage. He's hurting his client's case severely. He will be found guilty and the WH will use that guilty verdict to say they had no involvement... "What, Hansen, even the jury didn't buy is B.S. story."
This is a typical Rovian strategy... get someone to blow the whistle on something and then destroy them so no one believes that the real thing happened in the first place.
