I wonder how long people will take these high gas prices?
I just saw a report on our local news that gas thefts have increased sharply in the past day or two. Most stations in our area have still not went to pre-pay, which I don't know why. I guess it's getting to the point where people think "If I can't afford it, I'll just steal it & stick it to the man."

2. Demand for gasoline has risen in this country since last year.
I guess we're not at the point yet where the price is making demand decline.

And if they steal gas, they're stealing from a small business owner, not sticking it to the man.

5. we're numb
we'll take it and take it. we have no choice, even if we vote these fools out this november. there is no quick way to go to alternative fuels and there is nothing on the horizon to suggest that prices at the pump will drop.
i pay 3.49 for premium on LI and i'm willing to bet it will be up to 3.89 before the end of the summer.

thank you mr. bush, and thank you mr. cheney.

6. As long as flags don't burn and gays can't marry, it's OK!
Plus all those illegal immigrants have to be dealt with.

The sheeple will take it and take it some more. Anyway, it's all Bill Clinton's fault.

9. The people don't matter
but the businesses will suffer too, and that may exert some pressure. All of us will have less money to spend and prices will keep going up because over the road shipping costs are higher.

As we spend less and they profit much less, maybe somebody will put a stop to this.

10. Until just before the election
In the run up to the 2004 election, the gas prices were kept at an artificially low level for what seemed forever. I'm sure Cheney asked the oil companies to keep them down, then promised they could raise them with impunity after the election, making up for lost profits. We've been seeing that for two years now. My guess is that this go-round the oil companies are raising the prices now, and they'll "cave in" to a strong request by Republicans to lower them, you guessed it, right before November. A few months later, the prices will be off and running again.

11. Didn't the price of petrol start to rise when Iraq was invaded
or was that a coincidence. In Australia, it has been predicted that within a week we will be paying $1.50 a litre ($6 a gallon). At the moment it is about $5.80 a gallon. It would be cheaper if cars ran on milk.
