Now It Comes out The "Woman" Raped and Murdered Was 14 yrs old!!!!!
I actually read the age of 14 in Iraq witness accounts which never made it to our Corporate TVs. God I hate the lying fucking military and the complacent press who believe and transmit all of their LIES....

:grr:

<snip>

Based on interviews and records, the U.S. military now believes the young Iraqi woman Green is accused of raping and killing was between the ages of 14 and 20, Army spokesman Paul Boyce said Friday. While they initially said she was 20, Boyce said he has now seen documents that indicate she could have been about 14.

6. I don't recall hearing an age, but I'll tell you two things:
One, I seem to remember hearing her described as a "woman" and not a "girl" (perhaps to imply that she was older)

and

Two, in our society, its hypocritical of the news media to suddenly act like 14 or 15 is old, while treating missing 15, 16, and 17 year olds as though they are young children.

or 15 year old "woman" were the initial reports. At the same time I was reading about a 14 year old GIRL from Iraqi witnesses. The official FBI report states she was 25 years old! It was the manipulation of facts for US consumption. Natalie Holloway was a "girl", remember?

7. For all we know, the other child was raped too.
US military standards has dropped to the point that it lets in rapists and serial killers with no human feelings left inside. My guess is there are a lot of people who were promoted for doing the same thing.

It's amazing that this story even got out at all, was it not for the reprisal killings by the Iraqi resistance, this would have been another one of the 150,000 innocents who have been murdered or killed so far (and how many of those were raped before they were killed?). The early reports of extensive rapes by US soldiers, this was reported by IR, I now believe it was completely true all along but no one ever investigated. Hopefully we can depend on the IR to make them pay for it in ways that only the military can understand.

<snip>

"Never in my mind could I have imagined such a gruesome sight," Abu Firas Janabi said of the day in March when his cousin, Fakhriya Taha Muhsen; her husband, Kasim Hamza Rasheed; and their two daughters were slain and their farmhouse set ablaze.

"Kasim's corpse was in the corner of the room, and his head was smashed into pieces," he said. The 5-year-old daughter, Hadel, was beside her father, and Janabi said he could see that Fakhriya's arms had been broken.

In another room, he found 15-year-old Abeer, naked and burned, with her head smashed in "by a concrete block or a piece of iron."

"There were burns from the bottom of her stomach to the end of her body, except for her feet," he said.

Ex-Soldier Pleads Not Guilty to Rape, Killings of Iraqis
The former US soldier charged with raping a young Iraqi woman and killing her and three family members has pleaded not guilty. Former private Steven Green appeared in a Kentucky courtroom Thursday. Green is accused of raping and murdering Abeer Qasim Hamza, and then burning her body in an attempt to hide the crime. Hamza may have been as young as fifteen years old. Green is also accused of murdering Hamza’s mother, Fakhriya Taha Muhsen; her father, Kasim Hamza Rasheed; and her five-year old sister Hadel. Four other soldiers are also under investigation. New details continue to emerge about the case. Family cousin Abu Firas Janabi told the Los Angeles Times he was the first person to enter the house after the attack. Janabi says the father’s head had been “smashed into pieces” and the young sister’s arm visibly broken. He said Abeer Qasim Hamza lay naked and burned, her head smashed in "by a concrete block or a piece of iron." And according to Janabi, the family’s two young sons returned from school to see their home on fire and their family members burning inside. Janabi also says that three days before the attack, Abeer Qasim Hamza’s mother had complained to him that US soldiers were constantly searching her house and that she believed her daughter was the target. Janabi says he suggested that the family move into a vacant home beside his but the parents insisted they’d be safe. Janabi says the family’s two sons are now with their uncle in a nearby village. Meanwhile, the military is investigating whether the recent abduction and beheading of two US troops in a nearby town is linked to the case. The dead Privates -- Kristian Menchaca and Thomas Tucker – were from the same military unit as Steven Green and the four other soldiers. Investigators now believe the two soldiers may have been slain as an act of revenge for the rape and killings.

Based on interviews and records, the U.S. military now believes the young Iraqi woman Green is accused of raping and killing was between the ages of 14 and 20, Army spokesman Paul Boyce said Friday.

Neither the military or the press is mentioning that another soldier has been identified as the other rapist & murderer and that the FBI has sworn affidavits from 3 other soldiers that confess to being accessories to those rapes and murders.

It should not matter if she was 3 or 93, or pregnant, virgin, stripper or nun.

A woman was KILLED because soldiers couldn't handle themselves.

She can't drive, drink, or vote. Our legal system draws careful distinctions between juveniles and adults, as does our news media in all other cases of juvenile victims and offenders.

It's about the deliberate attempt to use misleading language to obscure the facts, minimize the crimes, and damp down the outrage.

42. It doesn't matter. A PERSON was brutalized and killed.
Am I worth less because I'm over 18? Fuck that. Yeah, it's sad. You know what? It's fucking sad when anyone is raped, mutilated, brutalized and killed.

I'm not going to get any more teary eyed over a kid who has accomplished nothing except be born than I would over an adult who has done things and touched lives. Sorry, but no, I don't value children more than adults. It's just not who I am. (and if it were my kid, I'd be livid and angry because she was destroyed this way, not because she was a child. I'd be just as furious if it were my sister, my mother or my grandmother.)

It doesn't matter. When soldiers kill non-combatants and terrorize them, it's fucking wrong. Age has nothing to do with it.

38. no, you are right, it SHOULDn't
matter, but it does.
And it has, and likely always will.
Just as the murder of a child is seen as more heinous than the murder of an adult-
And it shouldn't matter if she was ugly, beautiful, kindhearted or a bitch,- but it does.

That this CHILD, was terrorized by the people who were supposed to 'save' them- that she obviously could feel the threat, and had the courage to voice it to her mother- is noteworthy. And heartbreaking.

That she was separated from her family, and had to have heard them killed, while held hostage by 4 other 'american soldiers' to have her worst nightmare played out in the reality of the last few hours of her short life- That more than one man violated her body, and that she was shot in the head and left like some kind of condom like a piece of garbage..... that her last breaths were taken not in the comfort of her parents arms, or with the hope that her family would be ok, or that tomorrow might bring something other than more killing, fear and death..... that she never knew what life as an ADULT was really like.....

that shouldn't matter ...... but it does.

I'm glad that her family struggled against death- I honor their love for each other, and their desire to stop the inevitable. I'm glad that those who did this, didn't have a 'cake-walk'. That they had to struggle with life, they had to KNOW that the people they were harming were 100% alive, real, and HUMAN.... I hope that the images and physical memories of what they did, revisit themselves on those who did this, over and over, till the reality of the harm done breaks through and breaks them......

Until that day- they are nothing but names and news stories. This family deserves our attention. This family gave more than many american families have ever given in this foolish folly that disguises itself as the 'war on terra'-

Should it matter that she was just a child? no it shouldn't- What matters is that everyone should know how depraved human beings can do- being "American" is no protection from being capable of barbaric, cruel, premeditated evil.

But you won't hear bush admit that- cause he'd have to wage war on himself-

we have much to regret- much to answer for.

I'm glad this family will not be victimized any more-
That they know peace, at last.

35. Harping on age subtracts from the empathy
Nothing was more poignant than the LA Times story, and it was enough. I feel as bad for the parents and the 5-year-old who had her arms broken. Making legal arguments with age is too much like the defense and prosecution trying to score points with the objective law, and that makes it soulless.

Those in the media who do it are aiding and abetting the criminals with false propaganda.

39. recruits from the Arab-speaking population
The number of volunteers into this jihad have been over-flowing in their ranks, not just suicide bombers but probably all segments of the population. This was already happening before this monsterous crime and Bush just told us we are winning the war, resistance is futile, it's all down-hill for the troops now.

Remember, we're "The Great Satan" from a fundamentalist point of view. Very likely we will be when the truth comes out.

Again, why aren't the officers being questioned? They always pick a scape-goat in civilian massacres. Lt. Calley in Vietnam was their scape-goat, and it stopped there. But the officer and his superiors were just as responsible as the infantry troops they commands. If it was official policy to dehumanize Iraqis in Gitmo and in Abu Ghurayb, by rape of young women and other sexual depravities there, prison , how do we not know that it is official policy to terrorize the Iraqi civilians in more unspeakable horrible ways?

Put the whole command of this barbaric regiment(the 501st)in front of the firing squad and let'em have it. Not the grunts, the commissioned officers. Standard military discipline in war-time. Didn't that happen in WWII? See if the command policy changes after that. You've already dispensed with civliity ever since you abandoned the Geneva Conventions on War.
