1. Call your local cops and ask them. They'd be the best source of info.NT

2. Ask the police. They can tell you exactly.
And can even recommend training courses.

But most likely they will give you the advice that you give the thief whatever he wants and use a silent alarm to call them!

3. Keep bumping into MADem but, that's right!
First call your neighborhood cops. They have a lot of info that they can give directly AND indirectly.

Good luck, pooja and be safe.

:)

4. Call the Pinellas County sheriff's office. Ask to speak to the sheriff
or one of the top deputies, not just whomever answers the phone. They will know. Regs vary from city to city to county to state. So something legal in your city might not be in the county, and vice versa.

5. whether it's legal or not, it's a bad move IMO....
Unless the clerks are well trained in self defense, giving them access to a weapon is only likely to get them hurt or killed if the thief is serious. When someone threatens a person running a cash register the appropriate response is "hey, here is the money, and take what you want from the store, too!" I mean, you work for someone, but that doesn't extend to risking your life to protect their profits!

6. Depending on what kind
of business, most businesses don't want their employees to take action against robbers. This due to the possibility of lawsuits should anyone get hurt. Businesses pay big money for insurance to protect them against robbery. The main exception would small family owned superettes who often can't afford insurance.

7. I work for a small hotel... and its not so much about giving
the money.. but I am completely defenseless...if a person comes in to rob, rape, or murder. Seriously, if nobody came into the office for 1/2 hour and I was hurt.. behind the desk.. nobody would even know. I have thought about this before. We don't have a silent alarm (wish we did). But it is still a scary thought.. I am actually more worried about someone coming in and deciding to rape than to rob.. money give it away. take what you want and leave. but being raped I can't say take it and leave...

8. I have to agree with the others here,
check with the local law enforcement, but also make sure to check company policy or have the owner's permission. They may have a stipulation in their insurance policy against weapons on the premesis.

9. my daughter works at a credit union
and it was robbed three times in a very short time. The company installed a system where the members had to be beeped in rather than just walk in. There were a few complaints, but most generally everyone seemed to understand.
